Isn't possesing the pills he stole a felony by its self? I'll bet he gets a suspened sentence. Lot of cops on administrative leave lately!!! Who will babysit the babysitters???

One year seems very light! If he doesn't even serve that, I'll be very disappointed. In stealing these drugs, he betrayed every citizen in our city. He could have taken so many routes to get his fix if that's what he'd decided to do, but he chose to undermine our justice system. Also, he was high at "work"...shouldn't police be held to higher standards there? That was a big F U to all of us and to his coworkers. I know that people with addictions are selfish and singleminded but that shouldn't be a reason to go light on his consequences ...this guy needs some hefty reminders.

Should have been a felony.

If I were somebody that got busted for narcotics during his "get high time" then I would take my chances in court. There is a good chance that the evidence may be gone, and if so there is nothing to back a possession charge. Not to mention the embarassment it would cause and the lose of credibility in JPD.

People don't get the sentences they deserve. Might as well put him on probation.
