Hearsay doesn't go far in a court of law. And, from the looks of these blogs???? The Roper girl's attitude never struck me as mean, hateful, or uncaring. I think she was a kid who made a bad choice and the consequences were devastating. It was a horrific accident that was not planned. There are ways to teach the child a lesson without ruining another life in the process. As a parent of two young children, I only hope this whole ordeal and those involved are judged fairly and not based on emotions or pressure from constituents.

From what I understand the Roper girl and her whole family attended Ashley's funeral and showed great remorse. From what I understand the Roper girl goes through highs and lows. She is definitely not in a state of euphoria. An individuals perception of how a person grieves or reacts should not be based on seeing someone smile in a crowd. I am sure the Roper girl has private moments where she is tormented by the devastation she has caused at such a young age. Nothing is going to bring the deceased back. But, in the U.S. the justice procedure is not perfect but still it is the best in the world

look at the pictures of her and ask people who have not turned their back on ashley and you see how remorceful she is just because you may know her or her family doesnt mean she's some innocent person and just because she attended ashleys funeral doesnt mean anything she may have had remorce then but not no more and i hope she is tormented by the devastation she's caused but ashley's death never would've happened if it was not for stupid taylor roper paul davis

Obviously, you are spending a lot of time with her to be able to read her moods and feelngs at all times. Anyone who wishes torment on anyone else needs to reevalute their own character. I do not think it is very healthy for you to wish evil and torment on anyone. I just do not think one bad deed deserves another. The justice system will decide the proper punishment for the crime.

to all of you making your comments, especially Paul Davis?, why don't you stop for one moment and think of the family that lost Ashley. I know this family well, I attend church with them and I can honestly say that the mother of Ashley is so devasted by losing Ashley that she has a very hard time trying to go on with life. She has 2 more children who are hurting too along with many others in their family. Maybe some of you should put yourself in their shoes. Losing a child has to be the most painful thing that ever could happen to a parent. You all need to quit bashing each other, quit making excuses for the guilty and let this family grieve in peace.

I know alot more and it will all come out about Taylor at the trail. You don't let teenagers get by with speeding or anything else. This is why we have laws...to teach the young they have to abid by the law. Taylor has had three speeding tickets prior byfore the accident. If she would have been punished, Ashley would be alive.

If Taylor can tell the truth on the stand about her speeding tickets, you will find out by the horses mouth, if she does not tell the truth and their is proof to track these tickets to Taylor. As far as being a kid, no she is not. She took upon herself to drink and drive and that night she killed Ashley, she needs to tell the truth because the truth will come out. I pormise you that. Paul quit acting like Taylor is a kid. That teenager should have been grounded for the first sppeeding ticket.

If taylor has enough gutttttts to get into another car and drive (which she is) she is not remorsing. She is just a little stupid teenager that thinks she is invensible. The only one I seen crying so much was her father. He looked so bad, even I felt sorry for him. How can Taylor even think about driving again.

The justice system didn't take care of Taylor's three speeding tickets, infact her father took care of these tickets and if he(todd roper) would have honor the legal system, the justice system would have prevailed and Ashley Pyrtle would be alive today. I blame the parents for this and what happen to Ashley. YOU Ropers parents...you are partial if not all the blame for what happen to your daughter and the death of Ashley Pyrtle. People like you make me sick...always underminding the law. Your daughter has a serious problem (speeding). If you don't do something about how she drives...you will lose her the next time she wrecks. Wake the hell up Ropers and just tell the truth, admit you were wrong for not punishing Taylor for the first speeding ticket. I just don't know how you parents can hold your head up and act like this is not your fault..you are as just as quilty as Taylor. Ground that daughter of yours and get her some help (therapy with her problems) The parents better look closely on how they have raised this daughter---she is out of control.

Will Taylor tell the truth about her speeding tickets under God. Taylor knew she was speeding when her foot press the petal to the metal as they say. She knew how fast she was going, but what taylor was thinking..Oh if I get a ticket..my father will get this taken care of. This is your fault Todd Roper.

Jesus will be the only one to forgive Taylor because the Pyrtle family should never be ask to forgive Taylor. Taylor took their first born away from them and it is not fair to ask the pyrtles for forgivness for Taylor ---the pyrtle only want Taylor to tell the truth without Taylor being told what to say. Maybe Taylor and only Taylor can go to the Pyrtles and tell the truth. This will help the pyrtles but Taylor still has to be punished under the law for the death of Ashley Pyrtle.

From what I understand the young boy made an illegal left turn. Had he gone to the intersection he would have seen her car coming up the hill. There is proof that he said he saw her lights approaching. Just a reminder this is not a one car accident. Even if the justice system places all charges on Taylor, it is far from over because even if she had been going 45mph and he turns in front of her there is going to be a big time wreck. From what I understand teenagers have been flying over "thrill hill" for generations. The fact that thrill hill is a temptation should mean a light or stop sign. Because of the history of people going fast over this hill turning left without coming to the intersection is what caused the fatal collision.

From what I understand, the Roper girl was going 76 mph and was airborne. Anybody coming up that road even if he didn't turn would have been hit head on, or should I say she would have landed on top of the car. Seems like this has become one huge argument for a lot of you. This is a tragedy for all that is involved, from the Roper girl, the Pore boy and especially the Pyrtle family. The Pyrtle's will never get to see their beautiful daughter again here on earth. The other 2 families will have their children even though they may or may not get punished by the law. If the Roper girl had been going 45 mph or 20 mph like she should have been, Ashley Pyrtle would still be alive today and would be able to have a family of her own, a career, etc.
I'm sure there is a lot of hostility, a lot of pain, a lot of lives ruined, but there's no need to tell someone to "go to hell". If the judicial system is fair, all parties involved should be judged appropriately and they should have to pay the consequences. I believe there should be a lot of prayer at this time. Especially for the Pyrtle family. I have lost a child myself and it IS the most horrible, horrible pain a person can have.
