I agree with angry. I also feel that if I was a lawyer, and seen the tape, I would not want to represent this dirt bag. But we all know how lawyers are, either they are in it for the money, or to get their name in the papers.

You failed to answer 3 key questions all relating to the Rivers

1. Did anyone find a weapon on Rivers?
2. Did Rivers fire any shots?
3. Did Rivers get hit?

Everyone should be able to protect themselves without the threat of ambulance chasing lawyers. The off-duty cop was wise to be armed, as every responsible citizen should be, and it's great that his state shields him from unwarranted legal actions just for defending himself. In my state, I'd probably have let the guy shoot me. Would have been less painful than the years of time and financial extortion I'd be exposed to in criminal and civil courts. Legal concealed carry and Castle Doctrine should be standard in every state. We need a president like Ron Paul to protect our liberties.

The article and story are missing a lot of info so I searched for Omar Brown at google news and found more information.

There are only three reasons to cease fire in a shoot-out with the goblins.
a. The threat is eliminated.
b. You are out of ammunition.
c. You are so grieviously wounded to keep firing.
Good job to the off duty officer. Just needs to work on his grouping.
