Excuse me Miss Edith Bunker even if the schools are open or closed your supposed to be a parent . We dont live in the Bahamas so it does snow from time to time and a responible parent would always have a back up plan just in case it does snow !! Now get off the site and GO BE A PARENT !!!

A) im not a parent and if i did have kids i wouldnt have sent them to school yesterday or today. B) yesterday was a sh*t hole for snow. just becasue we live in ohio doesnt mean we shouldnt take messures to be safe. no one should have been on the road yesteday. even drving to work this morning was bad! from what i see of her comment, she is being a parent by keeping her kids at home and safe. how about you get off the site and do something productive with your life insead of bi*chin at people that know what there doing/talking about.

Gene Harris should be ashamed of herself for allowing schools to open yesterday. That was truly a political move that will cost taxpayers for a bus accident. It will probably cost a bus driver his or her job as well.

If she truly researched the weather forecast for this week...she clearly lacks critical thinking skills! Learn from the surrounding suburbs!

Does Gene drive around the city after arriving to work? She would see kids waiting on a late school bus, walking in the streets, and falling on slippery pavement.

I couldn't believe that there were Level 1 Snow Emergencies and she couldn't make a decision sooner today!

What world do you live in that LESS THAN A FOOT OF SNOW is such a big deal, especially when the plow and salt trucks have been doing a spectacular job in the city? It's not her fault that bus drivers had to wait at stops for kids whose parents are too reactionary to be alive. It's not her fault that liberal sissies that live in this city don't know how to operate a snow shovel to shovel their own sidewalks. And it's certainly not her fault that some children are spastic failures and fall down in a tiny bit of snow.

No, but I used to be one. And I would wake up on a day like this and look outside, and immediately know that I would have to go to school. Sure, I would be disappointed because all kids like to have snow days, but even at a young age I was a realist and knew that less than a foot of snow is pretty much nothing to cry and complain about. And I never remember having some sever difficulty walking in such a small amount of snow. Keep coddling those children, though...what could possibly go wrong?

Beautiful day outside! Schools are closed?? What
a bunch of BS!! Very soon, its going to be
raining, we need to close schools so the kids don't
get wet!! THIS IS A WASTE OF TAX PAYERS MONEY!!
and Yes, back in the Day, schools were open in
cold temperatures, snow on the ground and continuing to fall. What a bunch of BS!

Hey lets just solve this problem, When the winter
season begins, just close schools for the next 3 or 4 months........no decision will need to be
made about weather conditions, road conditions,
etc....and before you ask, no I don't have kids but if I did, I would sit in my car and wait for the bus, if my kids walked, I would take them to school, our educational system in this country is
bad enough without having to close schools eveytime
the snow flies or the temperatures get cold??
This is as bad as the Federal Government shutting
dopwn because of the snow, its costing $100 Million
a day because Our Lawmakers don't want their Limo's
out in the snow!!! We had Schools without
Schools back during the Blizzard of '78 at the
local recreation center in ou neighborhood!!

The current rate of calamity days given to school districts in the State of Ohio before making them up is 5 (although that is going to be changing).

School districts can't win. People complain when the schools close, people complain when the schools don't close and if the school district exceeds that magical current number of 5 days and students have to go later into the year people complain as well.

For those who have nothing to do but complain, no matter what, try home schooling your child and see if that solves all of your problems.

If you enlighten yourself you can:
1. Assume that Gene Harris is a liberal
2. Yesterday it was published that the number of snow days will be decreased from 5 to 3 - what a stupid move

Your opinions stink worse than you do!
