Within recent history Bill Brueckman smashed a newly built wall down on the 2nd floor of the courthouse just north of the prisoners' room. He did not like it there. Bill gets angry. He is also verbally abusive to his staff. I have seen him in action. Mr. Lowe is an even tempered personality. I don't know that Bill ever paid for the damage to the Courthouse.

I'm saying he did tear up county property with the help of his wife, which I hear is on video somewhere. After several temper tantrums, breaking things, kicking down walls and cursing employees I think it's past time to get him out of office!

The general public needs to see the big picture. Mr. Brueckman has been a dedicated state employee. His hands are tied in alot of areas due to the Administrative Office of the Court. Furthermore,
did anyone bother to ask Mr. Brueckman about how the courts took over the whole building after the county office's moved to the Administrative Building and how many of the court personnel expanded their office space and left the clerks office with the same amount of space that they previously had. Nine people in a small office space is to much. Did the Court Administrator consider the clerks office during phase one of the remodeling project? If was clear during the tours of the Circuit who obtained all the space.
Also, their has been talk about the efficiency of the clerks office. One most look at the court as a whole-- the court administator has a major part in how the efficient the judical process is. maybe the court system needs to be revamped not the clerks office.

Let's talk about the wall destruction! What's that all about? Well, according to the Cecil Whig Mr. Brueckman was so supportive and worked very closely with the late Judge Jackson during the renovations and would like another term to continue working with the efforts of the County to get some other remodeling done. But from what I understand as soon as the contractor put a wall near his office he kicks it down because he doesn't want it there. What would have happened if that would have been you or I? I know what would have happened, I would have been FIRED! It's now time for the county voters to take a stand and elect someone with an even temperament. As you can see, that certainly isn't Mr. Brueckman.

The best candidate for Clerk of Court is Derrick Lowe. Derrick's resume, experience and education speak for itself. After 46 years in the Clerk's Office and 16 years as Clerk of Court, if Mr. Brueckman had anything new to add it would have been done long before now. AIM HIGH, VOTE LOWE!

Finally, someone has gotten this issue out! Thank you, thank you, thank you, annonymous! Imagine as a taxpayer that your county tax dollars are being put to good use to upgrade the Circuit Court only for someone to throw a temper tantrum and with the help of his wife, tear down a newly constructed wall. Is that what needs to be in office? I think not! It's time for the two of them to go! No one should have to put up with her threats and nasty ways. She is truly a detriment to her husband, but because he has no spine or balls, for that matter to stop her antics, he must not be re-elected!

This may be true Anonymous, but that does not change the fact that Mr. Brueckman has anger issues as well as confidentiality issues. Running out of the building screaming obsenities at his employees and being destructive is NOT exceptable no matter who's office is bigger. His wife has come in that office in the past and approaced employees about issues outside of the office. He speaks of his employees to other employees, therefore there is no confidentiality within that office. Yes, it is time for change.

Well, it's clear that if the Court had given any space to the Clerk's Office that maybe he wouldn't have liked what was being done and he would have just maliciously destroyed it as he did the wall that he kicked down!

I like how anonymous (from Port Deposit) doesn't want to talk about Mr. Brueckman's malicious destruction of property. Why is that? Because you know it's the truth! I guess it's okay to throw temper tantrums, cuss your employess and tear things up, because your hands are tied by the Administrative Office. That's a great excuse to come up with.
I will say this, The Clerk's office does have very competent, hard working employees, but that's based on the individual and is not a credit to Mr. Brueckman.
One specific comment I understand was made by Mr. Brueckman when he found out an employee was expecting a baby was, "Is that all you know how to do is make babies"? Is that something you should be asking your employee?
I'm sure I don't know the half of what goes on in the Clerk's office, whether good or bad, but just from the little bit I do know, it's enough to make me know I will not be support Mr. Brueckman, but you have at it, annonymous from Port Deposit.
Get out

Baltimore, MD

Another interesting note, annonymous from Port Deposit starts out by saying, "Mr. Brueckman has been a dedicated employee". Maybe that's their way of saying he needs to go. Because if they wanted him to stay, shouldn't they have said, "Mr. Brueckman is a dedicated employee"? Just saying!

It is not just William Brueckman that needs to get out but his wife Robin Brueckman that needs to get out also. She (Robin Brueckman) has on many time came into the clerks office and order employees around, telling them what to do and how to do it, telling managers that they need to write up employees. We do not need to re-elect the "Brueckman's"

Here is the big question for Mr. Lowe is why would someone go to law school and give that up for the position of Clerk of the Court?
To Mr. Lowe and his supporters -if your team thinks that you can win an election and them come in a make numerous changes....think again. Look at all of those before you...look at Cecil County!!!!!!
Wishing Brueckman gone

I am an honest hard working employee of Mr Brueckman. As an employee I am saying it is time for Mr Brueckman to GO. He does and has had his Granddaughters working for him. Their working habits, punctuality and at times manors toward other employees would in any other work place be reason for firing. The Supervisiors to these young ladies feel that their hands are tired to do anything about their shortcomings because, WELL, they are his granddaughters. It was stated that we just need to do the work that the grandchild is not so that we don't end up in trouble for the work that isn't being completed in a timely manor. His temper tantrums have resulted in the destruction of state/county property as well as the use of foul language directed at his employees. Hard work is rarely ever acknowledged. But those who do special favors for him are treated well. He has made comments to women that are completely inappropriate such as "that's how I like to see my women" upon seeing one of his female employees on her knees trying to connect a computer cable and commenting to a pregnant employee that being pregnant was all she knew how to do. And if you ever think you can go to him with a concern or complaint about a co worker or supervisor then you are sadly mistaken. All that you tell him about your concerns will be public knowledge within 10 minutes of leaving the room. To top it all off his wife comes into the offices of the Clerk and yell at his employees to the point that they are reduced to tears. That is completely wrong and uncalled for. SHE HAS NO RIGHT. I love all of my coworkers but each and everyone of them know that the things I have said are true. Those who don't want Mr Brueckman gone are simply afraid of change. It is time for Mr Brueckman to GO. I am a tax payer and citizen of Cecil County First and his employee 2nd. And as such I am appalled that my tax money pays a man such as this such a high wage to treat people the way he does!! AIM HIGH!! VOTE LOWE!!

. The bigger question is why you want to keep someone in office that acts like Mr. Brueckman. Mr. Lowe is certainly a more educated man and much more deserving of the job. Plus I am sure the county won't have to replace walls due to his destructing something.

In response to anonymous wanting to know why Mr. Lowe would go to law school and give that up to be Clerk of Court. Well, really, it's not giving anything up. A law degree would be very helpful for the Clerk of Court. Ever heard of the Maryland Rules? Well, that's what running the clerk's office is based on, following the Maryland Rules. Not only knowing them, but understanding them is a big part of running the clerk's office. It certainly isn't about destructing property, or showing favoritism to your employees. It's about respecting the citizens of the county. Do you think Mr. Brueckman showed much respect the day people were in that building and he threw such a temper tantrum and helped by his wife he tore down a wall? I hardly think so.
Just because a man has chose to get a law degree doesn't mean he should not be Clerk of Court. Along with Mr. Lowe's law degree he also has a Master's Degree in Business Administration. What a great asset that will be for Clerk of Court. Plus, Mr. Lowe has had several jobs where he has trained and supervised a staff of 35 employees, developed work schedules, conducted performance evaluations, interviewed and hired staff members, etc.
Therefore, the choice is clear, Derrick Lowe is the most qualified to be the next Clerk of Court.
Business License Holder

I am a business license holder in Cecil County, and I must say that I commend volunteer work for charity, however, I must say that I am very appalled that my tax dollars are paying State Employees to run a candy/snack store. I cannot believe that Mr. Brueckman allows this type of behavior. Holding a bake sale or something once or twice a year is one thing, but turning your business license office into a candy store is yet another. Besides, when you enter the courthouse all you see are signs directing you to the candy store. It's hard enough to find signs to tell you where the departments are you are looking for, but the easiest place to find is Mr. Brueckman's Candy Store!

I don't know anything about the "candy store" (seriously?) or the alleged destruction of county taxpayer's property at the courthouse (should someone ask for a open records request for the tape so the public can see it and make their own evaluation?)- but I've heard much over the years about the unprofessional (illegal?) behavior of Brueckman - as well as the intimidation (of both Brueckman and his wife) with the employees of the Clerk of the Circuit Court.

That (in and of itself)speaks volumes about the character and leadership of Bill Brueckman. No way can I vote for the guy.
Out with the Old

Its time for change, The Clerk's Office has been ran by Mr. Brueckman or should I say his wife for 16 years. The Clerk (William Brueckman)and the Deputy Clerk doesn't have a clue what job each office holds only his dedicated staff does, there is no appraises for the work that is done only yelled at when a mistake are made. Some offices are short staffed while others have an over abundance of staff. There needs to be changes made for the better and yet for the last 16 years under Mr. Brueckman no changes have been made. I ask for you to vote for Derrick Lowe on Nov. 2, 2010. Out with the old and in with the new. Aim High Vote Lowe
