Ask your children how many hours of the school day they are bored.

Ask your children what they learned new each day, and weigh if it's enough for the time they spend in school.

Ask your children if they have to wait for others to 'get it' or catch up.

Ask your children if they are ever used as teachers to teach the slower kids.

Ask your children if their creativity and curiosity are appreciated and encouraged.

Ask your children if they raise their hands at every question and are told to sit quietly with their hand down.('We know you know everything, so leave your hand down.')

Ask you child, "Do you think it's fair for you to work hard to get a 100% on a test, and another child does nothing and is given a 50% on the same test?"

Ask your children how they could ignore the idiot masquerading as a teacher known as AcitveForPeace, Cool Mind, Laughing Liberal, Ms Trunchbull, Peter Smegma, Edd, etc.

G.W. it is amazing one of those children hasn't run into you in a dark alley and delivered the grade you deserve.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Cecilian; So bitter ... what's it like to be so miserable? Seems you have a personal grudge against someone. Want to talk about that?

As for smart kids ...Imagine a very smart girl today. If she were blonde, sexy, dressed to show and could sing nasty songs, she'd be a millionaire and adored by the masses. Is she were male, dumb as a tick, huge enough to knock down everyone else, she'd be a multimillionaire playing to screams of joy in the NFL. And "Gangsta Rappers" buy NFL teams and party with the blonde singers. But if you're a good person, extremely talented, skilled, and in the top 1/2 of 1% of intelligence, you wait tables making money for grad school so you can be a middle flunky in the Gangsta Rapper's corporation. For well over a decade I would read every issue of NEA Today and all the feature articles about bus drivers, custodians, handicapped kids, etc. Then I would write the editor, asking for an article on Gifted kids .... not one. US public ed doesn't value gifted kids any more than the rest of society.

Cecilian...nicely said!

AFP...Your first mistake was trusting NEA Today to write about anything meaningful. It's a teachers' union rag. That's all.
