They should clean up the place or get rid it.Clean out the trash or shut it down. The place is one big problem after another. Why would anyone buy there when you have beak in and murders and durgs. Think positive yeah right some vacation place. It is a shame they managment and the owns don't do something but why should he as long as he gets his money. I know Cecil County would love to shut the place down and they will get there way soon enough. The folks who own property outside of the place just hate IA and who can blame them.

Indian acres has cleaned up ten fold. Most of the problems (people) are gone. Yes there was ONE murder in there years ago. Multiple murders occur every day in any given area and people still live there, go figure. Why don't they shut down cities and any other areas where murders have occured? There are problems wherever you go, be realistic. I don't know what world you live in but the entire world has issues, maybe we should shut down the whole world? Since that is not possible why can't we do the right thing, be positive and stop being negative. Do you have a place in Indian acres? Probably not yet, you feel the need to be an authority? This is exactly how BS starts. I live in Pennsylvania and I love retreating to Indian acres on the weekends. It's people like you that keep this going on a negative way. People love to talk and add to stories to make them more interesting. As for the management, they have done a wonderful job of cleaning up. If you want to make comments please be a bit more informed and stop listening to the embelished talk. I've owned my place 5 years now and I have NEVER had a problem with anything. I have met wonderful people who are now assets in my life. There is good and bad any where you go.

Don't buy there, we lost our ass off when we sold it. And we almost got broken into, and had some things damaged or stolen there from the year round residents.

I'm happy for you, we have great times there over the years. But yes there are a lot of low lifes living there, break-ins,vandals,cheap boat ramp, etc.Over all, having a boat is a must. And don't buy it as an investment, we lost our ass of when we sold. Does anyone know if people still live and go to school there?

Do they know if any people still live there year round? Do they keep up on this? No more school buses picking up the kids in the off season? What about some retired people living on SSI that were living there year round? No more?

I have been to Indian Acres twice and I just went there two weekends ago to look around. I keep hearing the bad about the place and not much good. I have been thinking about buying a place there but I hear nothing but problems. I went into the park office and I told them that I would like to look at what you had for sale. The person handed me a list and really did not seem to interested about showing me around or anything else. I looked around while some of the places looked nice you had a lot of places that were in sad shape junk cars all around in there lot one place that burned out last year the old frame is still standing there not torn down. I would like to hear some good about the place. I hear of peoples property getting broke into and all the bad but does anyone have any positive things to say.

Personally, I think they should shut it down and build Condos,Single family, in a gated community. There is a bunch of low lifes that will be there no matter what, stealing from us hard working people, and as you can read these comments, people still live there. If you do buy, you will lose half of what you paid for it, and lose some property due to the bums that steal for their drug habit.

Are things really that bad? My husband and I have been interested in coming to look around and possibly purchase a site for sale. We have a 10 and 6 year old and with reading the posts on here, kind of concerns me. But I also would like to here the good too. My big concerns would be theft. While we wouldn't keep our camper there every weekend, what stuff I would be leaving there, would it be there when I returned? Thanks for any thoughts and advice. I am also looking for a lot that was water and sewer.
theft? are you kidding me? I would not leave a bird feeder there, they will steal anything, and you will lose your ass of when you do decide to sell. I was there at glen 2-85-86 for 13yrs. I never left anything there. We almost got broke into once, but they were scared off. We were very fortunate that are next door neighbor lived there year round, and I'm sure he still lives and works there with his wife. They also raised our dues many times over those years, to pay for all the damage that the year round residents did.

I kept my cash money in my pocket I was going to buy there but after what I read and three times over there looking around I said no way. I just about bought a place there but when some friends who owned there lost there ass too I said no way. It is a shame but they won't do anything until it is too late. I do feel sorry for the good people who are trying to make it nice again but until they get rid of the problems it will never happen. The place will not inforce and get rid of the problems. They need to go through the place and give them all 30 days to comply or get out. I hate to sound jagged but it is that simple. They need to make all comply not just a few that means everyone. The county will end up closing it down and it is closer then they think.

I'm sorry you lost your " ass" but you stated you were there 13 years? It took you that long to decide you didn't like it? I am glad you sold and got out so you can be happy. 13 years is a long time to figure that out. I wouldn't want you to waste another 13.(real estate is down everywhere) As far as people living there, yes some are still there but they have 2 years left to find another place to live. It is once again an enjoyable place to be. It had it's trouble like anywhere else. I would reccomend it if you want a nice, economic place to relax on the weekends.

I have been going to Indian Acres since 1972, when my parents bought into this park. it was in the rules and regulations then, and has always have been. The problem started when the local school district found a way to get more money. Charge every owner TAXES on every lot. So that is when people decided to use the schools. Everyone in the park was paying school taxes. What! We are going to pay school taxes. But you cannot use the schools. Now I am not going to pay for a TV then leave it at the store and not use it. Same thing in my book! When the state and county got involved the school taxes stopped, but not refunded. This is when the schools were in financial problems. The taxes went on for about 5 years. The way I see it things happen, money gets tight. Thing have changed in the 40 plus years. I even met my Ex wife there. It is a campsite that you own that is what gets lost in this. The Big picture is a housing developer wants this place for water front property.$$$$$

I have been hearing that a developer wants to buy Indian Acres, but who would get the money? Bob and the partners? Of course, what developer wouldn't want that property, it is beautiful and on the water! I just wonder how the developer would handle buying up each individual lot from each individual owner.
