The two remaining Amigos must be defeated in 2014. Mullin is already a lame duck but still votes with the other Amigos. Stop the madness. Vote them out.

I just read Commissioner Broomell's hilarious 7/2 letter to the Cecil Whig. While she states that she was aware of the dangerous condition of and potential liability for the North East High School bleachers, she voted against replacement in the current budget. On 6/11 she proposed shifting cost savings by Cecil County Public Schools to Cecil College in defiance of the CCPS request to use the savings for new bleachers at NEHS. She states that " After completing due diligence, I am confident that this project should have been one of the highest CIP priororities especially because o potential liablity". Then why didn't she fund it? While she rightly states that "my responsibility is to gather information on the best use for spending", she suggests the Box Top Program for the schools while spending millions on her pet projects. Broomell's revised history, yeah, that's the ticket!

She only changed her tune when her brother who has a kid at that school reamed her out for opposing the bleachers. Family first, huh?

Yes, let's do ANYTHING but raise the level of public discourse in Cecil County! ANYTHING! Whoa! It's time for Cecil County to grow up! To let go of that deep ornery streak of "wink and nod" ham-handedness.(Hardening of the Categories? Communal Mad Cow? What is it?) All the so-called Munchkins seem to do is go after the three, two, one Amigos. That's GOTCHA politics uttered loudly by designated-talking-points-and- innuendo-relay-people. There's no light shed by such attacks, only heat. And that seems the intention.

The Three Amigos should be held accountable for their actions. What happened to their calls for transparency? They talk about due diligence but approve the McCoy Farm giveaway without reading the agreement. They have spent their time in office hurting their enemies and those of Smigiel and Pipkin. Dunn has his "official" attack website. "Concerned Citizen" Broomell makes peronal attacks on blogs. Complaints about their actions are all based on facts.

Try "On the one hand," and "On the other hand" sometime and see how the SILOING stops and the level of discourse rises... Then, if you are really daring, add a "On the third hand" and stand back...

There is no other hand. They must go in order to save the county from complete failure. Businesses won't locate here. Exsting businesses won't expand.Valuable county employees are leaving. Broomell thinks she will be re-elected if she re-does history by narrative. Meanwhile, we suffer.

I respect your right to state your position. But in all due respect, you may want to also blame the Three Amigos for baldness, fallen arches and PMS in the County. And I don't mind if you get in the last word even if it is much the same as the first word.

My sense, from my own long experience, of what Cecil County was like prior to the 2010 elections, doesn't bring to mind an Eden-like setting. Much of and about the County and its entrenched citizenry has long been an embarrassment for its isolated style of customs and rites; for its lose-lidded cookie jar form of government, fostered by a one party status (slowly being transformed, kicking and screaming, from a blue to purple social model); for its acting against, with a naive form of impunity (like a "quaint" Amazonian rainforest tribe?), "outsiders" and anyone questioning the status quo, even when the"quo" no longer seemed to have much "status;" for quickly convincing too many residents, even those deciding to stay, to shop and work in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Harford County; for its patchy record of drawing top people in the first place, much less keeping them; for its highly-anchored "We've always done it this way!" attitude; and on and on.

If you must ignor all of these pre-2010 givens, then at least consider adding the baldness, fallen arches and PMS issues to the litany of how three people, during a prolonged recession, have the power to make the County go to hell in a handbasket.

You miss the point. The Three Amigo campaign spiel was that the "Good Ole Boys" should be replaced by their open, transparent, due diligence, blah, blah, style. Didn't happen. They along with Smigiel and Pipkin are the "Bad New Boys". They are just like the fraudulent Obama "Hope and Change" promises.

While I agree that the three amigos have done much damage with their many 3-2 decisions that have resulted in a significantly diminishing confidence in Cecil County's future - your point is well taken that prior to 2010, life in Cecil County had its share of problems.

Charter creates a whole new ball game for us with an elected County Executive. ONE leader and ONE voice for Cecil County. Two of those 3 Commissioner votes will still be in office (but with much diminished authority) for two additional years after the change to Charter in December 2012 - and we can oust them in 2014.

But for now, let's make sure we focus on electing an Executive with vision and the leadership ability that can move Cecil County out of these past issues and into a future that is good for our community.

Thanks for the balance... But no, no... What I am saying is that the so-called Munchkin attacks on the Three Amigos speak volumes about what the attackers are defending, knowingly and unknowingly, and very little about those attacked... The old political culture has used its largely hidden political clout for fear of significant change... There's the unattended TRANSPARENCY issue... Without systemic reform, Charter Government may only succeed as an exercise in moving boxes around on an organization chart...

I assume that the denigrating term "Munchkins" refers to those who oppose the Three Amigos and their Masters, Delegate Smigiel and Senator Pipkin, known as The SMIPKIN. The voters clearly rejected the outrageous, slanderous, negative mailings and robocalls unleashed by this duo. The era of Lord Pipkin being able to buy elections through negative media attacks is over. The "Munchkins" have succeeded in forcing "TRANSPARENCY" on the Three Amigos. Mullin has been an incompetent Pesident. Dunn has been merely "present" as a Commissioner. Broomell was accidentally honest in a recent meeting when she said she has Dunn's proxy. Illegal, but sadly true. Broomell has been a bully, using trickery and deceit in forcing her agenda on the county.

What do you want a smiley county executive who said at the McCoy farm purchase " I dunno if Mr. McCoy read the contract" What a nitwit justifying her vote.Bob's little pets put on a good show. What about the 3.5 million overrun on the new jail where are Bob's little pets the patriots at? Bob is the longest serving commissioner and he blames it on the architect and Turner signed a contract in 2010.Bob and his buddy Lockhart smell all over this one.

Just curious, how are you tying this cost over run to Bob and Lockhart? Please try to be specific and don't tell me one of your constituents told you or that it was brought to your attention. Open ended , non-substantiated accusations like this make me VOMIT.

Not a contract. An agreement between Cecil Land Trust (AKA Bill Kilby, not a county agency) and a federal agency to purchase development rights. Cecil County is not mentioned in the contract bt is to PAY the full amount, Hodge rightly wants it contingent on the feds paying their share. Moore is right, since the commissioners were not provided with the documents. Talk about buddies: Broomell, Mullin, Dunn, Kilby. No tranparency or due diligence here. Just a rush for "land preservation" give aways before Mullin leaves office. I want an intelligent County Exective who has the county's interest at heart.

Just more Smipkin Spin. Lockhart and Hodge are not "buddies" as in hanging out together and joining in business deals, despite what Broomell's paranoia would have her believe. Their connection is that whwn they were both commissioers and Broomell was a private citizen she harassed them both at budget hearings with her smear tactics that got her elected. She still harassses Hodge, along with her stooges Mullin and Dunn but has not proven that he has done anyting wrong. Sad that she envies succsesful business persons.

Not sure what you're getting at. I was never under the impression that there was a limit on the number of LLC's that one can possess. Luckily for people like you that O'Malley has quadrupled the annual fee on LLC's. Again though, what does having 22 LLC's have to do with the cost over run by Clark on the detention center. Please enlighten me. Statements like yours that that have nothing to do with the subject at hand, but rather serve only to slander the reputation of others and that alway makes me VOMIT.
