i agree with everyone. my 70 year old aunt was hit by an olean cop who was drunk and he didn't get nothing. my poor family is still hoping justice will prevail. too bad it won't, the law is really messed up. my father got 5 years in prison for a dwi and he didn't hit nobody!! crazy!

How drunk could someone possibly be on their WAY TO work? It's not like he was coming home after happy hour... If nothing else he deserves the benefit of a dought for that fact...I have seen people that don't drink, that were so worn out from so much going on in their lives,(i.e. building or remodling the house, watching the kids while mom is working) they couldn't walk, yet they were on their way to work. If someone was trying to "get out of it" they probably wouldn't admit to drinking at all.
A lot of the bloggers here seem to have a problem with cops in general, for some reason or other...

Such a pitty.
Wonder how much the rest of the troopers union dues are being shelled out for thier PBA attorney to represent him.

Come on his buddies didnt give him a sobriety test yet he admitted to having a few drinks? How drunk would one have to be to do such a stupid thing? Nice to see he was on his way to work. Wonder how many other times he went to work just as bad if not worse and nothing was said becasue he was a trooper and people "respect" troopers.

I seem to remember, a year or so ago, the son of a local doctor who ran over a teenager at about 1:00am and killed him and never stopped. He drove home and hid the vehicle in the garage and put a cover over it. It was discovered, and he couldn't be charged with DWI, because he left the seen and it was over 24 hours. It seems that he had been stalking an ex-girlfreind at the time he killed the kid. There hasn't been anything else in the news about it...

People just don't get it. This is Cattaraugus County NY. Judicial corruption, cronyism, legal manuevering, and scapegoating are the hallmarks of the justice system here. Does anyone really expect justice?
Visit family court sometime. There isn't an honest judge or lawyer anywhere to be found here. That includes DAs, Defense attorneys, judges and county CPS workers. This place is corrupt and a feeding ground for scumbags.
