I was just talking yesterday about the wilderness and why the environmental laws that were supposed to protect the wilderness and the wildlife have devastated it.

They "protected" the trees by banning logging.

The logging companies used to make and maintain roads.

Loggers took the old growth trees and thinned out the trash trees because they were hoping to return some day and get more good timber.

Loggers recovered and replanted the forests.

They really were stewards of our forests and they paid the bill because they were benefitting from our forests and our forests benefitted from them.

Now we have to pay government workers to that all badly.

Then they took the cattle off of the land.

Cattle kept the underbrush eaten off and what they didn't eat trampled down.

Wildlife and cattle are so compatible that wildlife follow them and when they took the cattle off the wildlife followed. Before cattle, it was the buffalo or bison which performed the service but no one could see that until it was too late.

The forests become so thick with trees and underbrush that when the fires come, everything dies.

The wildlife that is left lose their habitat. The old growth trees are gone forever, never used...just wasted. And no one benefits. Homes are gone, people's lives are devastated, billions of dollars are spent for nothing.

And now they whine about a few hybrid wolves that were never native animals and have been nothing but a drain on our tax dollars.

You mean that people who actually LIVE off the land know more about it than some tree hugging Prius driving hippie or a college educated liberal?

Perish the thought......
