Tell you what... enter the country legally and you wont have any problems. I am all for following the process legally and we do infact live in the greatest country in the world. Do what (most) of us do and follow the laws that we have and you will be welcomed into our country.

Yeah whats the deal with his family bailing on him? Thats great!

If he was here illegally, he really wasn't really a "Marshall teen". He was an illegal hiding in Marshall.

Every officer should be held to deporting a minimum of fifty illegals per week. You wouldn't even have to try at the job to find ten per day.

What is it that people do not understand about the word "illegal"?

Illegal immigrants - all - need to be deported because they are law breakers and
have not gone through the process of entering the US legally.

US taxpayers do not need the burden of paying for illegals who use our health
care system - and do not pay for it - use our education system - and do not
pay for it - and most likely are using Section 8, welfare, food stamps, etc.
ALL AT THE EXPENSE OF US TAXPAYERS!

Amen. You read my mind completely on the term they used in the headline.

Thanks ICE!

Agreed!! Shame on the paper for trying to make this more of a human interest story than a reporting of unlawfulness behavior corrected.

It is a human interest story because his family brought him here illegally and then left him here to fend for himself. I don't know about you, but few teenagers can make it on their own by themselves. In short, this teen's entire life has been turned upside down over HIS PARENTS' decision and actions. He didn't necessarily want to come here illegally. He had no other choice.

There are two other tragedies here also. The first is Latin America must be a terrible place to live because so many Latin Americans have risked everything to come here. People don't leave their country for no reason at all. Folks are going hungry down there.

The other tragedy is that they come here hoping for a fresh start in life and the Americans don't want them here either. During the 1850s and the 1900s, Irish, Italian, and Polish immigrants came here to get a fresh start and Americans did not want them here either. Eventually anti-immigrant sentiment simmered (largely due to increasing numbers of Black migrants coming from the South to the North) and these individuals melted back into society without a fuss. Hopefully, the same thing will happen to Latin immigrants.

America has always been a land of opportunity for many people (except Natives). That hallmark alone has been one of our country's best honors.

Worry about bettering yourselves "professionally," so you don't have to compete for menial jobs that Latinos do. So get off your ****, and invest in your education. Also, if you can't find a job--move!!! There are jobs in the "Silicon Valley." Oh yeah, you need an education for all these six digit salaries, and there are lots of Latinos out here too. There is no competition for menial jobs out here because no one wants them. And I know if it were up to white America, you'd get rid of all Latinos, legal and illegal. Sorry, we are here to stay.
If you don't like America then stop staying here illegally. Pretty simple.

His family probably took off because they were on the verge of being caught and deported. I want to know why if they were here illegally that anyone would feel bad for the family? The kid was caught because the family abandoned him, that's not illegal.
We have teenagers who are kicked out of homes now, they have no place to go and very little services. I know of one young man where is family just left they weren't interested in helping him or even caring about what would happen to him.

You sound like an idiot! Legal immigrants are welcome - as they showed respect for this country and its laws. Illegals have no respect, they only want what they can get for free without putting in the effort to get it legitamatily (sp). Immagrants of all heritages, bring great and different cultures to this country. The ones who do it legally deserve our respect and encouragement to continue to enrich this great nation of ours. We do not need any more law breakers no matter how they break the law. I am sorry, come correct or don't come at all.

They were here illegally and that's what happens.
The people putting up the Face Book page to support the illegals should
be deported also.
So when are they going to start getting the Mexicans processed as fast as they did these El Salvadoreans?
The faster the better, that just opened up space in our classrooms and probably created a job opening,, hopefully not for another illegal.
