Van Buren man killed in Saturday night wreck

I knew this man for most of my life, he will be missed.

On April 17th 2007 his nephew was killed. His name is Michael Dwain Jaco. He was riding his 4 wheeler when he hit a cable that was not properly flagged and he was clotheslined breaking his neck!

Now why have I not seen any news on that yet!!!!!

Yes I grew up with MIke. I was very sorry to hear of his passing. He was trying to get his life in order and I guess God didn't give him the chance! He will be missed!

We heard that he was trespassing and that the cable had been flagged properly, but someone had tore down the markings. Is it also true that he had left the bar before running into the cable. Someone said that it happened around 1:30 in the morning.

You can not always beleive what you "hear", Mike has a special heart and always will. Mike had left the bar that night. He was riding his four-wheeler where he always had. There had VERY recently been a cord put there with no flag and if there was a flag how the hell would he have seen it at 1:30am? Also 1:30am until about 4:30pm Ron Keeney was within feet of him about 8:30am and conviently did not see him. Welcome to V.B.

The cord that was strung accross the road was at a very dangerous level. It could have been any one's child that was riding back there, unfortunately. People need to think of the consequences of their actions when they string a cord accross the road. Which is more important, controlling a strip of road or a young man's life. I heard that the road wasn't even on the man's property that corded it off. I heard he just didn't want to hear the four wheelers. Nothing can change what happened. The young man that died was someone's darling, someone's grandson. My heartfelt sympathy to the family. Forever and always.
