Veterans Helping Veterans & Others from Portsmouth, OH was glad that they could do their part in helping the community of Olive Hill, KY after the flood. One of our members, Dave Messer, came into the office Wednesday morning telling us about the flood and how the people of Olive Hill needed help. We operate on donations ourselves and we have been blessed with donations for our thrift store. Since we are all about helping the needy, we wanted to do something to help, so we did. We rented a large U Haul Truck, loaded it with clothing, toys, snacks, water, cereal, handicap equipment and other items we felt they might need and headed to Olive Hill. We were greeted with open arms by some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. As the supplies were being unloaded they seen the wheelchairs we brought and they said good, there was a lady in here yesterday needing one. We wish we could have been their earlier so we could meet all the other wonderful groups and organizations giving a helping hand. We are adding a page to our web site at www.veteranshelping.org for our viewers to see and hopefully get Olive Hill more help.
