CPI had been having problems with Mike for awhile, staff complaints why didnt someone do something about it? If he was to hard to handle for CPI then why wasnt he sent to another facility? But oh yea, I forgot if MIke was sent away then ole Ted would'nt be getting any money in HIS pocket!!!

we dont know all the facts? someone is dead because 2 idiots were allowed to abuse him is all the facts anyone needs. they basically got a slap on the wrist is all. they took someones life and are getting told "dont do that again." Its BS plain and simple. they should be put in jail for the rest of there lives. its not fair that they get to live a long life while they ended someone elses.

I agree with the "big guy". But I also think that Ted deserves time behind bars as well.
Its amusing to watch Ted flip around and think that nobody knows any better. Well I'm here to tell you Teddy boy EVERYONE knows better! The only one you're fooling is yourself.
It was to funny when your "LIST OF CONCERNS" was passed around to the board. Lets consider this.. After you and your cronies were no longer employed there. You suddenly got concerned! Your CONCERNS should of been when you were at CPI NOT after the fact. Again you prove my point..ASS BACKWARDS!!

this may or may not come as a surprise, but when i was eleven i was a resident at cpi's burchett branch for about 5 months, not to mention several other placements. while i was there i was assaulted and made sport of constantly. one documented case of this exists when this black dude paul maree beat the crap out of a developmentally disabled kid named matthew. the day before that he beat the hell of me, less severely. i have the newspaper clipping :D it was taken to court and dismissed. not sure why. lemme go ahead and get this off my chest while i'm at it ok. when staff speak to each other about using safe physical management they call it slammed. when they perform spm technniques it's everything but professional. they twist your arm behind your back so hard you cry. they hurt you to make you cry and laugh. in fact when i lived at burchett branch i got a fucker named derek fired coz he left harsh ass bruises onn my arms from twisting so hard. and ted and kathy and the other kathy and margeret always wanted to know why james pittman, marcus hanes, that matthew kid, adriel baker,(me) and let's not forget that little terror cane madden and tons more were so aggressive. you act out the behavior you've been demonstrated. duh.

before gillum branch male and female residents had sex frequently. but don't worry, it was only the crazy ones like me, not the retards.
after gillum branch james pitman and cane madden were caught "doing" each other and were never separated, but thankfully, they were directed to stop.
uuuhhh, staff members smoked grass on night shift (won't name names)
oh! and completely unsanitary. the tards pooped and pissed and jerked it everywhere all the time. mountains of piss blankets piled up in the laundry room and overflowed into the hallway right by my bedroom. feces would be used to paint the bathroom wall and would not be attended to for some time.
two (hot) female employee's were busted screwing in the staff office.
it is truly a zoo.
and ya know what? that's only half of it, but it's the worst of it.
to be fair not all thee staff were awful people. i'll name some good ones-

all wonderful people there. people i'd honestly love to see again. people who did help. but there are so many more that do not. too many.

LOL 8 years in jail is a slap on the wrist? Did you read the article?

Well the sad truth is that you have to expect something like this to happen when you only pay your employees 7-10 dollars an hour and work them 80-100 hours a week. Especially when they're job is to take care of other people, it is just absurd.

Yes its true Ted did allow people to work 80-100 hours a week. Why? Because Ted didn't care! As long as there was a warm body on the shift (the employee) WHO CARED! The welfare of the residents and employees (Direct Care Staff) was on the bottom of Ted's list. Who cares if someone works those kind of hours and its IMPOSSIBLE to give any kind of quality care.It had to be what Ted's thinking was. His NUMBER ONE PRIORITY---How much money am I making today! The Heck with everybody else. Isn't that about what Ted's behavior told? Remember people Ted's all about Psychology..He knew the outcome of people working like that. Again.. it IS for retarded people. my dad used to beat my ass and for that reason i was a habitual runaway and i was too young to put in camp so my then social worker put me there to receive counseling and heavy medication. i was released to the ed necco foster care agency and when i received 2 felony charges i was brought back to the facility for like ten days then put in boot camp in clay city ky.

Rebecca,how did you get that Human Resource position? Did it go something like this? Was you the one that came straight from McDonalds or was it your Mama's tit into being Direct Care Staff, House Manager,Direct Care Staff,Human Resources then right to Grandpa's bed?
Correct me if I'm wrong wasn't your salary in the ballpark of $70,000? Employees at CPI received free health insurance after being employed there for 5 years. Hey Bec! wasn't you a little bit shy...from being employed there for 5 years? How was you getting the free insurance when you started getting it? Those nasty paper trails!!!
How was the all expense paid by CPI trip to Texas

For future record, all CPI employees are not bad people. And Becky and Ted come from good families with good morals. You can't blame them for what one person did. That job was the most rewarding and emotionally exhausting at the same time. Don't start the name calling on the staff if you were never there. You have no idea what it was like working there. And to see that company shut down after you spent 80 hours a week there to take care of the residents that you loved so much, was heart breaking. Unless you worked there and were in the shoes of the employees, keep your mouths shut. You have NO idea what it was like. So keep sitting at your computer and typing these messages all day and go on because you have nothing better to do. And Church Lady, that's not very appropriate to say those things about Ted and Becky. What church do you attend anyways? I'd like to know so that I will know for future reference where I should stay away from. You have no right to say anything.

This "no right to say anything" mentality has got to stop. We have every right to say everything. Statements should stand on their own merit not based on who said them.

The company deserved to get shut down. You can't pay people who are responsible for the lives of other 7-10 dollars an hour and work them 80+ hours a week especially when you will just hire anybody. Those kind of practices almost gaurantee that something like this would happen.

I am not blaming the death of that kid on the owners, the employee could of quit anytime. But the way they did business just wasn't right.

If you had been paid a fair wage for what you did then that wouldn't of been necessary. Yes, being Direct Care Staff was exhausting work, but you know what? It didn't have to be. Expense paid trips for Becky and Kathy, astronomical paychecks for people who were no more qualified then any man out on the street, astronomical paychecks for people who NO staff really for sure knew what that person did... Don't you think that, that money could of been used for YOU Direct Care Staff for a raise or something? After all YOU were the ones doing all the work.
So get YOUR HEAD out of the sand!
The trip and paychecks isn't even the tip of the iceberg what these people or your Ted, Ted and Becky or how ever you want to put it, did to everyone there. Yes, there were good staff there, caring staff and staff that put pride into what they did.
So "her" go re-read the threads!
If you consider yourself not worth earning much money and working like that then go work in a SWEAT SHOP because honey, they will appreciate you just as much. Or if your the type that is GRATEFUL for anything that is thrown your way and told what YOU like to hear, then lets go see if we can find you another "Jim Jones". Jim, Ted, just about the same in my book. Don't know who Jim Jones is?.. Google the name, Founder of Peoples Temple.
