Hmmm...interesting, but are they truely a "Veterans" organization? What national veterans organization do they support and/or report to? What do they offer in the way of charities? They do love to wave the veteran flag. But, as far as I have seen, they do nothing to support veterans or their causes. Every other organization is required to obey the law in regards to liquor control and gaming. Why do you feel the "Veterans club" should be exempt? I know full well that other veteran clubs are not. I don't see this as a veteran rights violation at all. More of a poor management issue with that club in general.

Many people know what the words Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage mean. But how often do you see someone actually live up to them?

The Seven Core Army Values listed below are what being a Soldier is all about.

Loyalty

Duty

Respect

Selfless Service

Honor

Integrity

Personal Courage

Mr. Carter,

I posted the Army Values to let you know what Soldiers are taught now. Maybe you weren't taught that when you were in or maybe you forgot.

"Recently, a group known locally as “Kasich’s Raiders” alias Liquor Control Agency, raided our Vet’s Club claiming they would be taking charge of our club’s operation and charging the club an annual fee for their services." - Well you know that is what happens when you violate the law.

"truth of search warrant" - Oh, I am certain. The charges were all trumped up. Little old club wasn't breaking any laws. They were just exercising their rights to assemble, drink, gamble and smoke.

"operation of our Vet’s Club for the last 75 years" - So the so-called vet's club has been breaking the law for 75 years? Yes, clubs in the state of Ohio have been required to sell alcohol for quite a while.

"In my opinion, anyone raiding, assaulting, insulting, degrading, causing stress or anxiety of any other undue concern to a veteran is no less than a traitor to their country" - Even when the Veteran is blatantly breaking the law? Hell, I think I'll go out and break a few laws tonight. Now deputies, don't be traitors!

"Hitler’s storm troopers by bringing guns and pushing into our meeting place and stealing our possessions." -Maybe when they knocked on the door the first time; if you would just have opened it - the storm troopers would not have been necessary. And really, did they wear swastikas?

"Brigadier General Jason T. Evans" - Yes, I'm sure he'll be here soon. He has nothing better to do than defend you. BTW Adj. Generals usually prosecute - not defend.

So maybe you and the rest of your little social club can study my previous post. If you would live those values you wouldn't be in trouble!

It's sad to see the last independent Veteran's Club lowered to "just another bar" standards. The current veterans need to stand together and remind the board that the board represents the veterans not a bar. There are only a couple veterans and a few socials pushing the club to bar status. The veterans have the power, but do they have the heart to take their club back?
