Over $10,000 an acre??!!!!!!! That's phenomenal in this economy. Thought the prices of property were down considerably, guess not. I wish I could remember what Shaw paid for it when he bought it from a different set of commissioners.

I like the way they say "it shouldn't cost the county a dime"
Where's the stimulus money coming from?
Out of the taxpayers' pockets?
Or did it fall from the sky?
You ever here "there's no such thing as a free lunch" ??

This is stupid. We are getting stimulus money to build a garage that will create how many jobs? One, maybe two? Gee thanks commissioners, Carroll County has how many people unemployed and this is the best they can do with stimulus money? Doesn't the transit have plenty of room where they are now? Or is it that they just cannot get along with their neighbors? What a waste of resources.

No money for sheriff's cruisers but let's spend money on purchasing land when the transit system could build that garage on the other side of the road at the Golden Age Retreat property, or stay where they are?

Why build it on the other side of the road by the county home?? Carroll county ONLY has 1 industry and that is farming!!!!! The Jenkins family pays very good money each year to have the "Lease" on the county home farm... Never have I seen the commissioners reduce their lease amount when they take ground for the MRDD school, dog pound, nursing home, Shaw property, and any other pipe dream someone comes up with.... WAKE UP Carroll County without Agriculture this county is going to be just another Landfill!!!!!

I didn't say put it on tillable ground, there is a lot of area that is not tillable around the Golden Age retreat that could house this garage. Again, what is wrong with leaving it where it is? Is there a space issue there? I'm definitely for not losing any more of our farmland. Agriculture is our prime industry and that is why I love living here.

Can you be more specific about non tillable ground??? What is not tillable is utilized for pasture! Please elaborate!

Are you kidding me? Non-tillable to me is any land that can not be used for any agricultural purposes. I'm referring to all the area that is between the buildings, that isn't being used in the most efficient way. Besides, why do we need this garage in the first place?
