With Senate Bill 5 in order there won't be any negotiations in the future. It is a shame that the people of Ohio were not given a right to vote on the bill. If the residents of Carroll County want to continue the right to vote on this , they should sign the petition. Then we the people of Ohio can vote for/against it.

The deputies should be happy they still have a job!!! All the rest of us have had wage reductions, and increases in our insurance premiums. All we hear is there is no money in the budget so you are just gonna have to cut back at home! Maybe they need to tighten there belts as well..........

Or maybe we should take care of the people that are risking their lives to protect us everyday. Maybe if the sheriff would focus on actual crimes instead of marijuana offenses, some money might be freed up to help feed the deputies and their families. When you dedicate as many hours to take down "criminals" as he is, you tend to waste a lot of time and money focusing on something that isn't really harming anyone. I'd love to see the meth labs get busted instead of a grow operation. And I'm not even a user...

Statistically, Carroll County is one of the safest counties in the nation. We need to keep these hard working peace officers. They deserve & have earned whatever they are asking.....

we have plenty of law inforcement. i was eating at a bar when a fight broke out and within minutes there was a sheriff, a trooper,a minerva and waynsburg cruiser, and a unmarked cruiser so we have plenty of "peace officers" in carrol. if they get rid of homeland security and all the baggage they have plus a few other un needed items like the courthouse scanner.it's pathetic to go by the courthouse and see chains on the front door. and for what? if someone is going to do something all they have to do is wait untill you comeout. 13 yrs of fearmongering is enough. go thru the budget and eliminate the unnecessary. we don't need police, sheriff, troopers, us marshels, homeland security, mobil crimelab, all these unmarked cruisers. sell the old cruisers and put sheriff emblems on the new unmarked cars.time to cutback and live in our budget with what we can afford instead of what looks impressive and we don't need. we don't need public employies negotiating how much we pay in taxes sorry. keep the union for negociating private business contracts not negociating our taxes. sorry if your that scared hire a security gaurd or get a home security system.
