This is most unfortunate for these people living in this flood plain. I think by now, with several flood experiences under their belts, perhaps the residents will finally wake up to the fact that living in an historic flood plain is not a good idea, and would make plans to permanently abandon the area for higher, safer ground. It would save them and a lot of others a considerable amount of money, and offer peace of mind to them and the emergency personnel who must constantly worry about lives and property every time it floods there.
