From all reports Nesquehoning was the only whole community left without power. It took over thirteen hours for it to be restored. Considering it was the only community in total darkness it was very disappointing as to how long it took PPL to get the town up and running.

The Government should tear down all the poles and if you want electricity buy your own generator.

here's the story I got from a patron of the Sokol Club:
Mickey Angst in one of his backroom deals voted NO to pay the bill because he stated it wasn't in his packet, after many hrs (13) and phone calls and threats from Angst, other members of the club declared that Angst is a rouge member and brokered a deal to have the power turned back on. PPL fearful of being bashed on the Angst report has requested a hearing to silence Angst. Angst stated he never voted to have electric service in his home or town

Have one you idiot. My thoughts were with all of the people, especially the elderly, who do not. PPL should update their systems and grids.

Why there was no shelters set up at any of the fire companies or rec center? It's not like there wasn't advance warning about the storm.

Blame the mayor, guess he was too busy working with EMA and failed to consider the needs of local residents. Typical

because the mayor and all the hose heads are all wraped up in themselves to even think about the need for others all they want to do is ride around with the flashing lights on and make it look like they are actually doing something

That's too bad. I'm sure there were people who could have used a place to get warm and have some food.

The Sokol Club? They don't even know how to put a battery in a Flashlite. It figures you get your info from a back yard political bar..
