"Steven Pebley, a 35 year veteran of the Campbell County school system, was arrested Friday along with Charlisa Monday, Jody Phillips, and Sharon Owens in a Claiborne County meth bust.
Pebley is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine at the residence he was living at on Owen Lane. Pebley does not own the home, but it appears he was renting it.
Pebley also works at WLAF, a Christian radio station located in La Follette.
All will be back on court on November 29th to set a trial date for a preliminary hearing."
What is this world coming to and how long are we going to allow this to happen to our children???!!! My nephew was in this dirt bags class and now our family is extremely concerned about his health and safety after possibly being exposed to this teacher. By all counts, this teacher was well liked. He was one that would shake the kid's hands, put his arm aroung their shoulders and tell them what a good job they were doing. If this man is in fact involved in making Meth, should parents not be concerned about him exposing their children to the toxins on a daily basis?
My nephew is a junior there and from what I understand, this isn't the only incident with the staff and drug abuse at this high school. HELLOOOOO! Does this county not know about the benefits of drug testing?
I am appalled at the Campbell County Board of Education!!!! What are these idiots thinking???!!!
After checking further into it, it has been found that the Campbell County Board of Education does not require random drug testing....no surprise testing... NO TESTING AT ALL!!! This is our children here we are talking about!! These are the people we trust to care for our children and yet they are not even tested for drugs??? For heaven's sake people, WAKE UP!!!
Factories test their employees, companies test their employees....heck, I was tested randomly when I worked for an office, yet this county doesn't take the time to drug test or check the people that our children are going to spend 8 hours a day with? That is utterly RIDICULOUS!!!
I live in a surrounding county and have children in school here and let me tell you....OUR BOE looks a lot more competent in my book! They do background check, random, surprise drug testing and ongoing checks throughout the year. I moved here from another state and there, the schools required EVERY staff member, from teachers, counslers and office staff - right down to the lunch lady and janitor to have a back ground check and weekly drug test.
Does this county not care enough about their children to make this weekly drug testing mandetory?!!! They may reconsider when the slew of law suits from parents of the children in Mr. Pebley's room, hits them where it hurts....their pockets!

Every staff member in the schools should be drug tested regularly. We don't want this to happen again...The students that were exposed to such a thing needs to be questioned for different weird smells and everything the cops need to know. God Bless Everyone that was exposed and pray it didn't effect their brains.

I went to cchs, and Its not just drugs. Iv known several teachers threw middle, and high school that were known to be drinking in school in classrooms.
If all the kids know a teacher drinks in class, how do none of the other teachers or principles hear about it threw the grapevine?
Or do they, and they just ignore it?
