Don't know where the crash happened in proximity to Blackwater/Xe but am happy to hear this didn't involve one of the homes in the surrounding neighborhoods. That could have resulted in more loss of life.

This is the exact reason why there are valid concerns about low flying air crafts over residential areas.

You need to research what you are talking about. You have no idea. They PROTECT innocent people from DEATH. This man was training to protect all of YOU from death...for your freedom. We lost one of our brothers today..and to see how anyone could state anything negative is appalling. Right now...somewhere, his poor wife and children are in mourning..and you are suggesting that man died in vain. How dare you! This man died for what he believed in. To make this a better world for all of us. This man was a pilot who delivered goods to starving children overseas and saved lives. EDUCATE YOURSELF!!!

If you would have watched the video, it happened on their training base @ the building sim. NOWHERE NEAR A RESIDENTIAL AREA!

If you would have watched the news last week you would have seen the Commercial Airliner that crashed in a Residential area in NY.

Could you keep your comments at least somewhat related to the actual truth.

Thoughts and prayers to the fallen warrior.

I don't think Blackwater protects us - anyone would protect someone if they are paid. Lets not confuse our armed forces with a business venture of Blackwater, which has done more harm to US in the outside world than benefit. We have to learn to live in this world NOT only in USA and have mercenaries keeping us safe.

I agree with RealSecurityProfessional - This is a company whose actions have served to hurt America's image. I disagree with using mercenary units at all though some may do good work, but I know this particular firm is not 'on the up and up.'

I believe that to call a private contractor a warrior is an insult to our men and women in uniform.

I think alot of you are very rude and inconsiderate. A man died today and all you can talk about is how bad blackwater is. To be honest if you don't work for them and know factual details about what goes on behind closed doors then you need to shut up. No one really knows the whole story to anything. All anyone hears is what the media says. Look back on our history and you'll see America doesn't always fallow the straight and narrow path. Sometimes you have fight dirty to in order to do the right thing. I know that he was a great guy. God be with his family and friends in there time of need. My heart goes out to you.

This was a great guy who went with God today, I knew him, I have flown with him. He was ranked with the best I have ever known, as a pilot and a person. He cared about the other guy and was always willing to take that extra step to help. He will be missed by all of us who knew him. He was my friend. He flew countless medivac missions for civilian medical service's besides the work saving lives performed while attached to BW. So before so many of you who do not know expand on your ignorance have at least the compassion to realize you ridicule a man who saved American lives and lost his life training others to save American lives as well. My thoughts and heartfelt sympathy goes out to all his family and friends. A friend.

This late Pilot is an SOF Army vet who protected your freedom for a career and went on to teach others to do the same. This company was hired by the State Department, they NEVER worked for a foreign Government. Get that through your heads. Look up the definition of mercenary. These are Americans working for America. Is the Google link broke on your internet? Get back on the special bus and have your older sister slap your hands away from the keyboard until you think before typing. Do some research. Jeeesh!

This man was formerly a decorated Officer in the US Army. What would you know about him anyway.

Hey Concerned,
You do reailize that Blackwater kills for money right? And that they will kill for any government just as long as they get money. You understand that right? So why should we care when one of them gets good and dead? An eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. It's in the bible...look it up.
Look where the eye for an eye mentality has took the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Hint, its two words.

ps- Not everyone follows the Bible.

You just have to love the media!!!
A helicopter crashes, someone dies and instead of focusing on the story - they have to make the inane statement that Xe which used to be Blackwater - changed it's name to avoid negative publicity - they don't know anything about why the name was changed and have to speculate and get a serious negative dig in at a local company who brings lots of jobs to the Moyock area - and I thought 10 was supposed to be on our side - I'm very dissapointed with this station.

My heart hurts for your loss. Irregardless of the speculation about what occured you have lost a loved one. I am completely ashamed at the lack of humanity and the total disregard for your loss...the pain and disbelief you must be feeling is immense, I'm sure. Please know that not everyone is without heart or sympathy. I believe many find ways to lash out, I am so sorry that they have taken this tragedy...your tragedy...to do so. You are in my prayers.

You are such an idiot - if you had a real clue you might even be dangerous - keep reading the Bible and maybe the light will eventually come on.

Blackwater only takes contracts with countries approved by the US government. Some of you need to do a little research before posting. You do not have to like them, but just making things up does not help.

Yeah I'm sorry too. I really need to just get over the 17 unarmed Iraqis that Blackwater pulled over their vehicals for in order to shoot. Dead that is. Dead Dead Dead. Did I mention they were unarmed civilians that were guilty of crossing the street when the Blackwater convey was driving through at the time. Hey "To the family" have you sent out your condolences to those peoples families? Of course you haven't why would you do that?

Helicopters are very complex machines and flying them takes skill and concentration.
Unlike an airplane where you can take your hands off the controls and enjoy looking out the windows for seconds before something happens, you must FLY the helicopter at all times.
I'm going to guess mechanical issue at low altitude. That usually results in a very bad day.
I hear chip detectors in my sleep....
