I'll be moving to Camden County, Ga soon and am looking for a high-end home builder. I've heard excellent things about Ron Tyson. He has some beautiful homes in the area. Any thoughts?

Yes he definitely does but I hear Mr. Stover is scaling back his operations. I had friends build with Bill Gross and they say he came in way over budget and about 3 months later than promised. I want to avoid the shysters.

If you want a builder who really pays attention to detail and will build you a beautiful home, you need to consider Bent Pine Construction. The owner is Larry Johnson and he is also the Chairman of St. Marys Planning Commission.

When someone orders and installs the wrong product over and over again - I call it "pulling a Larry Johnson". That SOB is bad news.

I have a couple of friends who built with Bent Pine Construction and are very pleased. In fact, one is considering building another home with them. I don't know why your friends are furious, but maybe they should discuss with their supervisor why they're so upset. I know my friends said their supervisor was very responsive and made every effort to make them happy.

You must not live in Cumberland Harbour. Those houses are terrible and the owners irate. Bishop went waaay overbudget.

If you build with Bill Gross just make sure you stay on them - especially if you get his 'B' team. Measure everything and compare is to the plan. If you don't... god help you.

I am familiar with all of the builders in Camden including Ron Tyson. Have you made a decision yet as to which builder to use? We have had two homes built in Camden and would be happy to provide you with details on our experience with area builders if you are still looking for this information.

Magnum Builders has a nice sub division in Kingsland. They have a very good reputation for doing quality homes. Good Luck!

Currently building with Tyson in a St. Marys community. He is an excellent custom builder and we have been very satisfied with the building process so far.

I had work done on a remodel and after trying to sell our home, I found that Terry Stover Construction did not build it to code.
(a home inspector was hired by the interested buyers)
Also when I asked the code inspector for the city of kingsland to come out,
( to assit with getting things fixed and code friendly)
he was more concerned with who my contactor was then helping me.( apparently they knew each other well) I would be very careful. The code inspector for the city of kingsland told me to take it up with my contractor..They never did come out to see the work. The calls were not returned from Terry Stover construction. Honestly I'm still disapointed in this process... My City Inspectors did nothing after 4 calls to get someone out here.
I thought that was their job..To enforce Code--

I also used Terry Stover to build six years ago and are currently dealing with things that were not built to code. Inspectors are there for a reason, not to make friends. If anyone is building I would recommend being there for all inspections so you don't run into problems later.
