How can you plead not guilty to a charge like that? Whether it was two beers or twenty beers, he was still drinking and driving and a man lost his life as a result. The article said that he was also charged with attempting to leave the scene of the accident and dui. He needs to step up and take responsibility for his actions. He chose to drink and drive. I have no sympathy for someone who makes such an irrisponsible choice. He should have to pay the consequenses for his actions.

If I'm not mistaken, by law, a not guilty plea is automatically entered.

Phil DaPain, I think you are right. I was looking at it not realizing that his attorneys are probably going to try to plea this one out to a lesser charge. But, he did the crime, he should do the time. 3 hot's and a cot at the cross bar inn at least for the next 10 to 20, might I add, in some of Kentucky's finest resorts.

Yes, as a matter of fact I was a correctional officer at one point in my life for a period of 5 years. I know what it is like to be locked up for 8 to 10 hours a day, I could only imagine how aweful it would be to be locked up 24/7. But, I don't drink and drive or go out of my way to break the law either. I have never been incarcerated or arrested because I do know the consequences of my actions and I think about things before I do them.

Is it true that women would put bloody tampons on their trays and send them through the lunch line?

Don't know, I worked at KSP. Never even visited a woman's prison. I know that some workers in the kitchen at KSP have been caught urinating in the kitchen sink and making shit burito's for the protective custody inmates.

He was arraigned in district court and district court CANNOT take any plea on a FELONY charge. He has to go thru the indictment process and get to circuit court of superior court before he can make a plea of guilty or innocent.

Doesn't one have to plea "NOT GUILTY" in order to be sent up for indictment with the grand jury? Some counties do pretrial in district court for felony charges and some kick them straight up to circuit court for indictment and entry of a plea.If they plea guilty then it would go up for sentencing, wouldn't it? I could understand him taking the not guilty plea in order to fight the leaving the sceen/evading charge, but that doesn't change the fact that he had been drinking and driving. I was only going by what the news article said about him entering a plea of not guilty.
