Do employers take advantage of workers when the unemployment rate is the highest in the state? Do they consider workers to be a dime a dozen and treat them poorly? Do they fire them for little or no excuse?

Yes they do. In fact they do get rid of people after 4 days training. It's almost impossible to get a job with employment as high as it is in fulton Co.

OK, where is it you think they could go and apply for a job if they wanted one? The few employers there don't have a reputation for keeping very many of their employees for very long. The longer you are on your job the higher rate of pay and benefits you cost a company. The higher the unemployment rate the easier it is to fire you and hire a new person for less pay and benefits than you were costing them. If the area has problems that prevent new companies from wanting to open businesses there then how can it grow and prosper? Me thinks you might not know anything about Fulton or it's people.

I agree! Fulton Co has way to many people living off the government! But, with so many BPs and Motels being taken over by Non USA residents-- it won't be long and we ALL are going to feel like we are living in another country!
This area is over loaded with Mexicans and Indians
Don't know about you but it Worries me!!

This comes from someone who can't spell the word they are complaining about. It's not g r a m m e r, but I don't care that you can't spell. I care that you can't think. There is an economic development person for Fulton and Hickman Counties. Is he doing anything that is resulting in bringing jobs to the area so you can develop economically? Like get off welfare and get a job because there actually is one to get? Since Fulton County has the whole states highest unemployment rate maybe it's time for a new Executive Director of Fulton County/ Hickman County Economic Development Partnership? He may be developing economically but how many other people are? If he can't bring any jobs to the area quit paying him and hire somebody else who has had better success someplace else. Never mind. You might not want anyone doing that job who would actually do that job by bringing in actual jobs. Keep paying him for doing just what you want him to keep doing. IMO, it's sad for the people who like it there and wish there were more jobs there.

Yeah, didn't he used to be the mayor? Does he invest in health care for the elderly in South Fulton TN? Park Terrace Village? I'm sure he must be investing in Fulton Co. KY and Hickman Co.businesses. He is after all the economic development specialist for those counties but you know you have to put your money where you can get a return. Maybe if he has invested out of state he can teach you all to do that too. No need to bring jobs in, just invest wisely out. Fulton and South Fulton are really the same city and county and state all unto themselves anyway right?

The beef must come from hanging out at the clubs and organizations and with other like minded health care investors and operators. There is beef for him there anyway imo...but the rest of Fulton County has the highest unemployment rate in the whole state to include poor poor eastern Kentucky mountain counties. That's too pitiful but people don't know what to do about it so it won't change imo.

I bet the people that have a job would do anything to keep it, right or wrong. Having such a high unemployment rate gives a whole lot of power to the employers doesn't it? Power that they wouldn't have so much of if there were more jobs people could choose from there? When most of the towns leaders run in the same packs and rub elbows at the same places they must have each others interests at heart like good buddies should right? Of coarse they want new businesses to come and employ people. Of coarse they don't want good businesses to move away. Right? RIGHT!!!. Just name one single new business that is scheduled to open that will employ at least 75 people full time with good benefits by the end of this year. Can't name one? Vote them out or fire them for no results that matter.

I think you're right. While some folks work on garbage codes and festivals maybe other people could work on Occupy Fulton.lol. Occupy Wall Street wants people to move their money out of Bank Of America and Regions Bank because those banks are doing the same stuff they did before that helped get America in trouble. They are governed by big corporate CEOs that get big bonuses and bail outs they say. Smaller local banks and credit unions are not. They want Americans to talk with their money and move it from banks that screw them over. People have moved a couple billion dollars already and more are moving it.The 99% is a whole country saying we don't like the system in corporate run America that says to lay down and shut up. People both republican and democrat are not going to shut up anymore or lay down. The government and the courts was not for sale to the highest bidder. If they won't build an America where people can work and be treated fairly, they don't need to be there whoever they are or whoever they are related to or friends with. The 1% rich who buy the government and get the government to do what they want, need to know the 99% of non rich Americans are not supporting that. Well that's what the 99% are saying and they're going from all over the place to Washington to say they are not going to be bullied and told to lay down and shut up anymore by big banks, corporations and the 1% rich people who are running the country into the ground. That's my understanding of the 99% and the Occupy movement anyway.
