This is a joke! Those cable barrier fences are a serious traffic hazard that turns what once were simple slide-offs into personal injury crashes with totaled out, shredded vehicles. People are having to be extracated from their mangled vehicles and treated for injuries caused by these ill-conceived contraptions. MDOT lives in a fantasy world if they think the fences have earned their worth. PLUS, MDOT goes after the drivers insurance company to pay for the fence repair. These fences are a hazard to people not even hitting the fence, as instead of sliding harmlessly into the median, the vehicle bounces off the fence, back into the traveled protion of the highway where it gets hit by multiple vehicles! Tear the fences out and scrap the steel.

As stated in the previous post these rope a dope barriers are a total waste of mony and now cars that would have slid off harmlessly into the median are thrown like a sling shot back into traffic. Evidance today a young girl was killed in a accident on I 94 near paw paw the car hit the rope a dope and went back into traffic instead of the snow in the median. another car slamed into that car and a young girl died as a result. A needless death caused by the cables. I drive 94 between BC and kzoo and in the last 25 yrs don't recall a head on death along that streach. Another waste of precious dollars by idiots at the top.
