I WAS BORN AND RAISED IN CLAYTON COUNTY AND WOULD LIKE TO COME BACK FOR A DEAR HUNT BUT IOWA MAKES IN ALMOST IMPOSSIBE FOR A NON RESIDENT TO GET A PERMIT. LAND TO HUNT ON WOUOLD BE NO PROBLEM I STILL HAVE A LOT OF RELATION THAT HAVE FARMS IN THE COUNTY BUT I CAN HUNT ELK IN COLORADO EASIER THAN DEAR IN IOWA.........

If you are hunting on Family owned property and they have a Land owners deer tag that needs filled. I don't think You need a license.
