I wonder why it was necessary to pick up the cell phone so quickly? I'm sure she was negotiating a multi-million dollar business deal and just didn't have time to waste....good job!

Stupid is as stupid does. Perhaps she can share a jail cell with Nikki Vos.

The girl who died in this crash was a family member. She has 2 children under the age of 3. Very sad for family and friends. Cell phones are dangerous instruments in a vehicle people. Think before you react when in the car!

Sometimes people do things or react without thinking. It is a natural response to try to catch something before it hits the floor. I am sure that you have done the same thing before. If you would have thought before you posted on this thread maybe you would have had a little compassion for the family of these children and not be so rude or as in your case, stupid is as stupid does.

Common sense people. If something falls onto the floor in the car, leave it there till you get to a stop sign. Clearly this tragedy proves that a cell phone and its location in the car is not worth what can happen. My prayers to all involved, especially the family that lost their loved one. Those babies need lots of love.

I wonder... if someone you loved dearly would have been involved in this accident, how YOU would feel about a smart assed and arrogantly HARSH comment such as yours here.

This was a JERK remark. I sort of hope you lose some sleep over it. If this is the way you talk to people, maybe you need to.

I pray for God's grace and mercy to be upon the family of the person who died and also upon the young woman driving. I hope the people in their lives show them compassion, love and forgiveness.

It was an ACCIDENT.

Folks need to use a modicum of common sense when they get behind the wheel. Apparently, the young lady who was driving is bereft of common sense. Perhaps if she wasn't so self-absorbed, she'd have no need for a cell phone. I suppose her life is so important, that all of her friends need 24/7 access to her thoughts.

It's tragic that a young life was taken by the stupidity of another. But then again, not wearing a seat belt doesn't speak well of the decedent. Having two kids by the age of 20 (any word on whether Maury was able to find out "who dat baby daddy" was before the ?) doesn't exactly show a great deal of personal responsibility.....

Here's another fine example..."Hey,I'm 16, daddy bought me this sweet BMW, I have a bitchin cell phone, hey look I can text and drive.....kaboom..."

Some people drive and can't do anything but drive, some people drive and can do 5 things well, including drive.
Cell phones are really bad in the hands of anyone behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Everyone screws up once in awhile..but screwing up behind the wheel can be deadly.
Did you hear about the truck driver that was looking at some paper work going down I40 and run over a DOT worker going 70 MPH. A professional driver...70 mph...looking at paper work... the biggest killer is speed...SPEED KILLS !!!!!

Very sad stuff. I'm very sorry to the family. A mistake was made, but it's a mistake anyone could make. We all take our lives for granted, and we are all guilty of taking our eyes off the road here and there.

I read this in the paper while I was at work today. I was very disturbing, and very eye opening.

Again, my condolences to the family. I'm very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you.

I have lost many friends, and family members. It's never easy. I know that it's no consolation. Just hope you know you're not alone.
