I work for the City of Lenoir, and I saw the scrulpture. I have to saw it is neat. It is nice to see the city trying to make it a more beautiful place to live, work, and visit. They have done alot over the past few years to make the city a better place. They have paid for things by using grants, and not taxpayer money. The sculpture was paid for by private donations from the art community and other citizens, not taxpayer money. All the city did was donate and section of unused real estate, which is gonne be used as a park. I feel blessed to have a job and be able to provide for my family in this economy. The city is trying to give its employees a raise and doing all the right moves financially. That says alot about the leadership, especially in this economy. Mayor Gibbons and City Manager Mr Bailey are doing a awsome job. They have done a great job to get new business coming in and creating employeement opportunities. They also keep 20% reserve funds as where they are only required to keeep 6%. Thats amazing. Yes we do have inmates helping in some departments, and that is saving taxpayer money. It is also helping those guys to get back in to society. So hopefully this answers some questions about what direction the City of Lenoir is heading, and I hoe they keep it up and dont look back. To see where we are now as to where we were five years ago, we are going in the right direction.
