Developer's Fees

Concord, NC

#1 Jan 24, 2007
Get ready for some entertaining spin from the local developers. According to one of their talking heads, affordable housing just went out the window. What he is really saying is that it just isn't fair to try and make developer/profiteers pay their fair share of current and future development costs. So it stands to reason that if the developer type people become indignant enough, then the taxpayers will foot the bill. Just like it has always been. Me thinks it's time for a change. Pay as you go or get out. No more shell games. I guess we are supposed to believe that they are doing us some kind of favor by building these "junky" affordable houses. Anybody think one would last the full term of a 30 year mortgage? That's right. If we get the deal done and scram, we won't have to worry about that.
