Alcohol petition started in Valdese

A group in Valdese has initiated procedures to ask for a vote on beer, wine, ABC store and liquor by the drink in the town.

I think it would be a good thing for the sale of alcohol in town. Reason being is so that our taxes as home & land owners would not go up every year, the town could tax the sale of alcohol instead. I also think that it would bring more eating places to our town, which means more jobs. If people think that it is going to make people become alcoholics then they are wrong, because no madder what town one goes to (wet or dry) there are those kinds of people. Its not like these people who wanting it in our town are wanting to put a bar or ABC store on every corner. This town was found on wine let us buy it @ the local store.
