Racism is alive and well in Buncombe County. But maybe there's a little less of it today than there was yesterday, when hundreds of citizens from firefighters to schoolchildren launched a public war against racism using rallies, songs, signs and thoughtful dialogue as their weapons.

I wonder how many of these professional protester lily white liberal yuppies live in a neighborhood with black folks? There are plenty of "integrated" neighborhood in Asheville. Montford, Kenilworth, and MLK Blvd areas. And I wonder how many of these yuppies have black friends?

Hundreds take stand against racism? The only people taking stands against racism in this day and age are those who have some vested interest in keeping racism alive. Just ask Jesse Jackson. He is making a fortune by keeping it alive, as is Al Sharpton (both "ministers" who oddly enough don't have a church to pastor.) We are in a post-racial society, or at least would be if these morons would stop reminding us that we are supposed to be racists. Sorry, the racism thing played out in the 1970's, along with disco. Let's move on to more important and relevant issues....like taxes, employment, gas and groceries. Those issues don't have a skin color.

I saw government school children out walking with signs on the way to Pack Sq...this kind of indoctrination instead of real learning suits the agenda best. Its easier to spend time making signs for a social protest.

I HOPE they taught the kiddies all about the RACIST democrackkk 'party' that controls them.
