It's a sad way to have your life end. When people have someone in the family who drinks heavily, they should intervene and maybe save a life. My condolences to the family.

It is a sad way to die, but when you have a family member who drinks there is an underlying reason maybe guilt over doing something to someone or doing something that you should not have. Intervention only works if they really want to stop drinking. And if your family member has a drinking problem why take them to a dangerous river like the James I have never been to Hatton but I was told that it is very misleading. Considering he was a local he should have known not to step that close to the shallow end but hey that is just PLAIN COMMON SENSE talking. My condolences to the family.
