I believe that you are probably pretty accurate with your suspicions.

The Cecil family does not own the brand but they do in deed have some ownership in our local store. I worked there for years and I know how much they paid for their stuff.

The Ammar family from Bluefield started the Magic Mart chain and David's mother, Adele Cecil,(not sure if she is dead or alive) was an Ammar. Yes, they do have stock in Magic Mart and have since the stores opened in the sixties. I remember going there for there grand opening in 1967 or 1968 when I was a kid...

Adele has passed, as well as her husband. They were fine people. I am sure there is not a one of us who haven't done something wrong in our lives. The Bible says those without sin, cast the first stone. That means we should not talk about others when we have done things our self. I am sure he regrets what he did, and he will have to pay a price. I just think everyone should leave him and his family alone.

There is right and there is wrong. I am sure that when you are referring to the Bible that you don't mean someone should be forgiven for setting down and actually planning how they will steal money from someone else just because they feel the urge to. It is bad anytime someone takes money from another but I could understand it better if they had small children that needed to be fed but a LAWYER???? That is what is wrong with this area now, some people think they can steal whatever and take advantage of people because of the JOB they have. I think there are too many people here that have these so called jobs and they are taking and taking. And this will go on till someone finds out and speaks up.

First, the Bible also says "Thou shalt not STEAL" and the only thing he regrets is getting caught. His greed, hubris, and disregard for his clients has resulted in his present predicament and he should definitely pay a price for his crimes.

I'm not without sin but I've never committed the crimes or violated the sacred trusts this man has. I'm not casting a stone but I won't apologize for being offended by his actions. I certainly don't wish his family any ill will and hope that this man emerges from this scandal with a newfound appreciation for his freedom. Once he's paid for his crimes I hope he finds happiness and peace.

I'm equally offended by those who want to make excuses for his crimes or pretend we are all guilty of such actions. He's to be forgiven but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be criticized. Pay his debt to society, hopefully learn a lesson, and let the consequences he has paid serve as a warning to others who might be tempted to commit similar acts.

Doesn't matter. He'll get a little parole.
