That decorative front and color scheme could also work for Food City. Don't count your Wal-Marts till they open!

I was wondering when this was going to be finished??@ nanna, that is an excellent point to bring up, because that is going to be a MAJOR problem! What dummy decided NOT to build from the ground, hahah, that is crazy! Well we do know one thing for sure is that if it doesn't hold up, Whoever that was in charge, I am glad to say "your fired":)

No place to park

Walmart required a minimum of 500 parkings spaces, would not have been room for the building and the parking lot, could have had one or the other, so stack them up was the only way.

I would like to know how people seem to know so much about the Walmart. They would not build an unsafe structure. Therefore if it was a ground issue, the building would not be there. I think it is very obvious that it is a reality. Do you think they are putting up a structure just to look at? Get real people! Why is everyone so against having something in this town. The Lord knows we need it.

I personally know some people that are helping to build it and have been there since it started being built. No one has ever said anything about any ground settling problems. This is just a rumor...

Managers of Wal-Mart stores get a bonus around the month of March. It is usually equal to 1% of the stores profits for the previous year. In some cases, the bonus is more than their annual salary. i am sure the starting pay will be minimum wage, unless department managers are hired in from other locations. If you want to make more, you will have to start at the bottom and work your way up. It's not like other local businesses. Corporate sets the number and type of positions available and the rate of pay for each position. evaluations will have to be done at pre-set employment periods and raises will be based on work performance. I think there will be a huge amount of turnover inthe first year. Some people will not be able to adjust to working in a corporate structure.

Surely they will start people out at least 9.00
an hour...You won't even be able to afford THEIR
groceries on minimum wage.

Walmarts do not pay min wage. You'll always make around .50 cents higher. Cashiers make more than floor employees.
