Huh as long as he's tried in Washington County he might serve some time, If in Buchanan County, hahahahahaha some fine will be all, cause that's all they want is money and NOT JUSTICE... What would have been done if he had wrecked and killed a family of 5???

This guy is from Buchanan County where the incident occurred. Somehow his residence has changed to Washington County. Let him be tried in Grundy where he could have killed people while trying to get away from the "law."

He may be from Buchanan County, but if he's tried here, he'll get off for some stupid reason, Lack of evidence, improper force, or some BS... Try him in Washington County, he'll serve due time there.

if its like the rest of the idiots around here that get in trouble this one will get off two. or maybe because he actually tried to hurt one of the sorry laws around here he might get 6 months of so. i say that he should be tried in washington county because buchanan county has went all to hell. they don't care about nothing but a dollar to make. and that is a shame

Oh, someone forced him to run from the law? He wouldn't stop even when they shot his tire. That should have be a clue to stop and see what they wanted. Let's see...a siren...red lights...lights blinking. What planet was he on?

I hear he was running BECAUSE they shot his tire! Maybe trying to get away from an over zealous deputy. Ask around down at the convenience store across from Riverview, I think they saw the whole thing.

If he was so scared of the "zealous" deputy, why didn't he go on to the sheriff's office in Grundy and report him instead of taking off at high speed up Slate Creek?

Wonder why the deputies picked on him to chase and shoot his tire out. I've been driving for many years and no body has shot my tire out. I guess we need to help this poor lad out since the law is picking on him.

Next time they try to pull me over for a ticket...I'll run. I'm afraid they'll try to shot me, too.:( Maybe everybody should run. Look out of the way! Hope we don't wreck into you. Don't worry about the laws, they weren't made for me and you.

...And run into the lions' den?!
While on the chase the guy should have went to the Sheriff's Office, because that's where he ended up anyway. Nobody would have shot him in there, in front of witnesses. He could have called a lawyer, parents, family. We can all concede that everybody basically does not respect Buchanan County law officials, but we have to still obey the laws or go back 200 years to having shoot outs in the streets. Our town would be in chaos. The guy made a bad judgement trying to run home. If he was harassed at the store, he should have went into the store and asked for help. Are they going to shot him in the parking lot in front of people? When he ran he endangered peoples lives.

and it would be a good guess that it could happen here, from what the the general public are saying that witnessed the mess, the sheriffs office is not looking to good here.
The S.O. are doing what all law officials do...they chase...putting everybody in danger. Everything is happening at such a rapid pace, they don't have time to consider the consequences of their actions. That's why when you see a red light flashing, you better pull over.. Yes, the S.O. does have that authority...anyway, you know you can't get away, running down the road, or up the mountain, or to mom's house, they know you, they're gonna get you! They'll have you locked up until they decide its court time.

in this particular case, a lawsuit is just and most likely will come, and you are right there is absolutely no need to run, they know who you are and they will get you. i'm not saying he should not have been aressted, i'm simply saying you don't shott at someone who doesn't have a weapon, i'm right and the law will back him on it.

Down there in Dodge City (Buchanan County), a Haggen (Ray Foster Haggen) resides
In a shanty northwest of the creek.
His first name is Festus (the mule’s name is Deb)
And he’s got this particular “speak.”
When talking,
He turns to Miss Kitty (DAre Not sAy her name, LESThER get mad) to chat.
Of course he respects her—she’s “thoughty” and kind.
And “looksome” she is, don’tcha see.
He “swallers” a beer at the Long Branch Saloon (Little Big Horn),
though often he has two or three.
His friend the Comanche’s the blacksmith in town (Alan Honaker),
And “fullers” round Dodge know they’re friends.
With April (Vicky Jones) the “ninny” he tries to be tough,
though she knows that he only pretends.
His best friend in town is a “quackety quack,”
Galen Adams (Jerry Lester), known fondly as Doc.
“Golly bill,” that “old scudder” can insult and taunt.
Though he never would hurtfully mock.
Haggen though has a temper, it shows now and then,
like a “red tailed ole’ badger” he’ll growl.
But mostly he’s ornery, shifty, carefree.
He's a crooner, and boy can he howl.
Something Borrowed, Something Blue
You “stay in the buggy” he’s said once or twice,
When danger was lurking about.
And when he encounters a “blabberty mouth”
He tells ‘im to just “cut it out.”
In spite of the whiskers and hat full of dust,
(and always a scarf at his nape),
he cleans up real perty, and dare you say not
he’s on you “like ugly on a ape.”
A “pearl buttoned bangled” old billy he’d be
If he had a new suit in his poke.
A visit to Jonas for fancy new duds
would make Festus Foster the stud of Gunsmoke!
