Why can't the two dispatch combine. Why transfer calls from one agency to another to slow emergency response. Plus it is cost effective to combine agencys and save the tax payers money. With technology advancing with enhanced 911 it provides a valuable lifesaving service to the citizens. Oakisland needs to change the liberal spending policies that started years ago.

oak island police made a good decision by keeping its own 911 dispatch service.this service is a big benifit for the tax payers and citizens of oak island.sometimes when you switch services to another agency you run into problems.the grass is not always greener on the other side.as the saying goes.if its not broke dont fix it.congratulations to the oak island police department and town council members for keeping there own services for the citizens of oak island.
