Finally Brent and Stacy are gone too I'm going to guess Chad will be next?... Allen is too agreeable to be next. Wow elders it's really hard to see what's going on, oh I forgot we are celebrating there move into academia just where Brents heart has always been.... Right! If Chad "leaves" will that get the point across, god help Tpcc if they find a way to doop you into believing he would leave on his own or would have a reason to be fired but I guess if u believed that about Steve Melissa June and Brent then you'll believe anything the wagners tell you. Do you really think it's just coincidence the old staff has all left! Do you really think the problem lies with ALL of them? Please wake up Tpcc please let them know you know something is not right! Please just leave and find a healthy church! Dint stay out of fear or comfort! Please!
You hit the nail on the head!! If you are paid staff and are not impressionable and won't bow down to the Wagner's you will be in the line of fire!! And yes you are so correct when you say that if Chad leaves it will not be because it is his choice. His heart is with his youth group kids and I believe the ONLY way he will leave is if he is forced out like the others! Is TPCC an elder run church or a puppet on a string church with the Wagners controlling the strings? You can't tell me that Brent left on his own accord when his last Sunday was the 10th, John was out of town the following Sunday the 17th, and then his next Sunday back is the 24th, which conviently he is ordaining a "new" executive pastor with a different "title". Lord please place your hand upon our church.

My sister was a devoted member of FCFC for years, and was deeply hurt by the pastor's actions. Anyone in a leadership position, especially in the church, has a moral obligation to be above reproach, and if they cannot be, should step down. His behavior sickens me because it wasn't just a lapse in judgment once, but seems to be part of the fiber of his being. I cannot think of any man who could be more unworthy of anyone's devotion. How could he have the gall to preach the gospel of our Lord? How dare he! Hypocrite!

I was at FCFC for approximately 8 or 9 months. There were some cool people there but everyone was in each other's business all the time, I guess that is how it goes with a small place. I remember Mark was an alpha. I usually get along with his type but whenever I had a conversation with him it always made a red flag go up in my mind. I also saw some of the congregations' attitude towards him, many times I would hear something about Mark that made me think a few of the people at the church would be unable to distinguish between their relationship with God and their pastor and to me this was a little to close to what I define as a cult. And in the end some people fall away from God because inside them they blame God for what a man has done. When I was there, and now reading this blog, I hear a lot of talk about how successful he would be in business. I doubt it, his mindset was too dogmatic and his methods were very systematic. While appreciating aspects of his ability to sell and convince for profit many businessmen would still get turned off by a seeming lack of integrity. It is about perspective. People in business don't need to be validated with religious rhetoric. ...To me it was a sad lonely place so I moved back home.
Just disappointed

I had a big, long post on my experience at FCFC and why I chose to leave but apparently it was too long and didn't post lol. Basically I'm just disappointed that someone with the natural gift and charisma to make me feel like God was speaking directly to me, answering my questions and calming my fears turned out to be the person he is. It's very similar to the extremely gifted artists currently residing in one big house or another. No pun intended. Such a waste. The last straw for me was the check for over $10,000.00 that he received on Pastor Appreciation Day 14 or 15 years ago. That was the last day I went.

Single me out and attack me all you want. I started this forum and have every right to keep checking in. What business is it of yours whether I started posting here 2 yrs or 5 yrs ago? Alot of us still check in here and just don't post. Some have even hinted to me that you may be close w/ Markus or maybe his latest gf. It wasn't just about putting trust in a man, it was putting trust in a man who said he was ordained by God to teach us. Alot of us aren't letting go because there's more to come. When someone makes the news as often as he does, people will talk. You obviously misread between the lines. I've never been bitter or angry, just let down and hurt. I've let FC go and have moved on. If I want to check in here, it's my right.
So your the sad little person who started this forum wow ....get a shrink!

I know someone who tried to warn Markus Bishop of his ungodly ways and they were put out of the church. He didn't want to hear the Word from the person because it was a rebuke and for correction. He was very angry and didn't receive it well at all. The person was told not to come back to FCFC and if they did the police would be called and arrest them.
If that event occurred in Oct. of 1994, then yes. But there were others before and I'm sure others after. My family attended FCF and then FCFC as it was later called from 1987-1995, and yes it was a Kool-Aid environment. unfortunately, you couldn't see that til you left.

It is hard to believe that all this is playing out yet again. Are there any original members still there? We went through all this in '94 and '95, but for us it probably really started with the mysterious exit of a family on the leadership team in '90 or '91 and the eventual hiring of an assoc. pastor in '92. But there were many mysterious exits over the years with no plausible explanation. Marty and the Rutherfords to name a couple. So sad to see it has never really ended, or that MB has EVER really come clean to the scope and magnitude of his sin. If he ever had, and ever really repented, stepped down and changed, I think he would be surprised at how many would have rallied around him. Sad that his pride has robbed him of the opportunity to change and be blessed.

Did you check out Markus, Fany and her 16 year old daughter on Dr. Phil Wednesday? Outstanding parenting! And it looks like they are still living in that house!

Yes, my sister and I did. She was a member of the church yrs ago, as I posted on this forum in 2012. I recognizes him immediately in Dr. Phil and called her. We were both a bit shocked, but not so much after a few minutes.

"In 2010 he began seeing the world, and himself, in a different light. He says he “heard the voice of the holy spirit,” but it was coming from within. He then went through a three-year period of self-examination that resulted in his leaving his church."

The article mentions that he doesn't even call himself a Christian anymore.:( It's sad to see him once again in the papers for another arrest. My prayers go out to him and his family.

You are a complete idiot. My heart is breaking! I knew Mark well, and loved him as a member of my family. I grew tremendously under his teaching. When things started going sour, his Associate Pastor Mike Sasser left. We couldn't identify what was wrong, only that something definitely was! As time passed there were symptoms of Spiritual Sickness but we didn't want to leave. Mark counseled one couple to Divorce and then united one Divorced Spouse to another member of the congregation while the broken-hearted wife remained faithful to her Church. When approached by faithful friends and asked how he could do these things, Billy and KD were driven out of the Church. We left with grieved Spirits but knew that Mark was no longer "our' Mark, long before he changed his name. I pray that his Heart will yield to the Holy Spirit and he will truly Awaken to be the man God meant him to be!

Our church is considering the hiring of John Wagner but have concerns after simply googling his name and discovering what seems like a rocky history. Can anyone tell me if indeed he left his church in 2003 because 1. he was having an affair and 2. to also form and begin a new church? We've been told that it was his ex-wife that had an affair and he left this church to reconcile his life. Conflicting reports! Help
Just curious, I know that he is indeed a pastor in Lubbock now, so after all these answers, why was he hired?

Obviously the elders didn't do their footwork. And after they were confronted about it several of them stepped down, and the others that remain drank the kool-aid.
