Do these schools have an academic criteria to be accepted into the programs?

Meaning do they discriminate against students who have difficulty learning.

If so, this standing is bogus. They are not "real" schools.

They forgot Dillard, Ely, South Broward, and the other under-performing, overly-violent schools. Funny they didn't actually include the best-performing schools with the highest test scores and graduation rates. Not only did those schools earn their silver medals, they got their Terrific Kid/Student-of-the-Week awards.

Pompano High is the best secret in the county. If you can get your kid in there...you've made a good score.
Hmmm Interesting

Atlantic Tech deserves that rating. School's only been open for 4 years and they already made the list. I know someone who goes there and prior to attending Atlantic, they were a D student at best. Past 2 years, they've made the priniples honor roll. Its obvious the teachers are hand picked to teach there and the rest of the county has the crappy ones who just want a paycheck.

This is a spin for sure. Each of these schools are vocational schools or have magnet programs.

Magnet programs are a scam designed to whitewash schools in urban areas so the upity Mulignan's childuns don't have to go th school with a bunch of Tizzuns.

Doubtful at best on that one. They shut the school down for years then reopened as a magnet school- they just put out a good PR machine-- and people start hearing all the good buzz about Pompa-NO . There are numerous schools that were left out that have been around for years that have a proven excellence- a couple of schools on this list have only been open a few years(- yours included.

Sorry-

Ah, a highly educated critic, as we can see: He can't punctuate, nor can he spell the name of the newspaper correctly!

"yours"??? Look, my ignorant friend. I could care less what you think of my opinion. However, it comes from the inside. If you can get your kid in this school, you've made a good decision. I don't GO to the school..nor do I work AT the school..lets just leave it at that.

Also, what difference does it make that the building was closed for years. It's what it is today that counts.

It's a very good high school.

The best high school by far in the east side of the county.

It's "principal's" honor roll. Obviously, you are not one of those intelligent students.

It is no surprise to me that Nova would be on that list. Excellence is tradition & we reach for the stars, plus we hold ourselves to very high standards.
