Volga official pleads to false imprisonment

A Volga city official accused of assaulting his wife earlier this year pleaded guilty in Brookings County Circuit Court last week to one count of false imprisonment.

This guy beat the crap out of his wife to near death and was fined $500. If I starved my dog I would be fined more than that. Calhoon was worried it would cost the taxpayers too much money to pursue the two assault charges. That's why wife abuse keeps going and going and going because we don't have the guts to stop it. We all have to take a stand on issues like this. Are we gonna let it keep happening? Now the Meyer team is trying to smear Sarah so she will leave town. Are we gonna let that happen? Yes, I am a beaterhater and always have been ever since my mother was repeatedly beaten up. I know what it is like to see it go on and on and on. If we cannot rely on law enforcement we as citizens have to do whatever it takes to stop it. I for one will never vote for Clyde Calhoon again and will do whatever it takes to convince everyone else the same.

1 year anniversary. Wonder if Meyer remembers what he did to his wife this night. It was 17 below zero and he beat her with all he had in him. Oh, and the truth comes out, he beat his first wife, only that was kept hush hush. Wonder why? Can't let the kids know what kinda dad that had, only that their mom was a tramp. Interesting story. How can one wife never admit he beat her, and the other begs for help and the second one got screwed royaly!~!! Go figure. Justice-yea ok

The only joy here--none. One woman suffers physically while the other just shuts her eyes and could have stopped him.. Only took him 21 years to physically beat her, but he mentally abused her to where she thought all this was really her fault. And he walks the streets of Volga, smiling, laughing, joking, like nothing ever happened.

Our society failed her and will keep on failing her and thousands more just like her in the future. We as a society are just too hung up on ourselves to worry about anyone else. Well people...it is our mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmas, wives yes wives, friends, business partners, and many more that are abused and ingnored by people like him, Clyde, the Volga City Council members, Volga residents, police, etc...
