Suspect in attempted murder may have ties to 1992 unsolved case

After a brutal attempted murder of a Breckinridge County woman, WAVE 3 is investigating a cold case out of Elizabethtown.

Please don't be so quick to judge. I do agree what has happened was very wrong and totally evil but allow me to say a few things. First off This was something completely out of charater for Mr. Pine who has never raised a hand in anger to anyone, has been a very loving husband for over 30 years, a great father and a adored grandfather. He's a avid church goer and involved in many church activities. He was raised to be and always has been respectful of others and always a gentleman. He has never thought twice about lending a helping hand to someone in need.
My heart and soul goes out to the victim and she and her family are in my prayers but please remember that there is also another family who needs our prayers and support and that is Mr Pines family for they to are victims who did not ask for this nightmare either. So when your saying prayers for the victims family please say a prayer for Mr Pines family who are suffering deeply and have lost everything also.

Monster! I bet you pooped your pants when this courageous woman didn't die and was able to identify you. You could have continued to go to church and hide the Prince of Darkness that you really are. You can't hide from God....I hope the investigators look real hard at the 1992 cold case that happened while you were living in E-Town. I pray that God is with Mr. Pine's family every minute of the day. They can't help what Satan does.

Thank You and actually I'm his wifes younger sister. Everybody saying he ought to be hung and please don't get me wrong what he did was of unspeakable evil and he should be punished, which he will for the rest of his life and whatever comes after life but please all must remember there are 2 families who are deeply effected by this. My heart and soul goes out to the victim and her family and I wish with all my heart there was something I could do to ease their pain. But please, all I ask is that everyone remember my sister and her family in their prayers also. My sisters life has been ripped out from underneath her. No one asked for this nightmare and God knows no one deserved it and yes he does deserve what he gets but please his family does not.

I too have known the Pines for years, and know Mr. Pine's character. I keep both families' in my prayers. The Pine are an upstanding family, and they didn't deserve the heartache they are going through.
The victim didn't deserve what happened to her either. She is stronger than most people I know to have survived the attack.

I agree that this incident is totally inconsistent for what Mr. Pine has lived his entire life. I know him as a kind and gentle family man. If he committed this crime, perhaps he has a temporal lobe tumor or had a stroke that totally changed his personality. Judge not lest you be judged. There is more to this story than meets the eye.

I totally agree. That was my first thought. What folks need to think about that Mr. Pine worked for Ambrake for many years and has been exposed to asbestos in the manufacture of brake shoes and pads. Tho they no longer use asbestos they did durning the time of his employement which is why my first thought was that he could have a tunor that no one new of. I actually am praying that that is what was going on at the time at least then we might be able to understand why this has happened. Thank you for all for trying to understand this is not the character of this man who I have know for over 40 years.

I do not know Mr. Pine, I do however, know his wife. We cannot blame his family for the terrible crime he has committed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pine family and the victim.

There is more to this story!!! He is a mass murderer. No one does this 1 time, when it comes out he has done this before in Elizabethtown, and it will, I want to see you stand behind him then. I know the other family and I know things that have not been released. If his loving family knew things that he did to this women you would NOT be defending him and his family. He is a PSYCO and deserves to have done to him what he has done to his victim and her family. I cant wait to see him on death row.

What in the world does it take to prove this man is a psycho!!!! I don't care where he has worked!! There were several 100 people that had worked here, are they ALL going around commiting such gruesome crimes!! NO!!!! You people are as crazy as him. He did this intentionally and planned it. You don't knock on a neighbors door with a gun, knife, rope ect. and not know what you are doing. I live over 2 hours away and it has totally changed the way I live. I lock all doors, watch whose behind me, make sure my kids lock the door when they let the dog out & then unlock it back. Things like this DO NOT just happen once!!! There will be a LONG line of unsolved crimes associated with this man. I can't wait to sit and watch them.

I know both families, The Pines seemed to be nice enough but over the last year Mr.pine seemed to get weird. What he did is unexcusable. I think he should be strung up in Courthouse Square and let the citizens of the community do to him what he did to his victim. then let him die a slow and painful death. His victim is the nicest lady anyone could know.Nobody deserved to have that happen to them.

I now hear the LADY he did all this to is going to lose her home and stuff as she can not pay the 1.5 million Dr. and Hospital bills this slim caused her. If his people are so "fine" why don't they step in and help her out so she dosen't loose her home ect because of him......

Thats awful to hear!!!! I hope the community jumps in and helps her out. Has anyone heard anymore on the E-town case and or the other cases everywhere this man has lived even in Ca??? I heard This same thing has happened everywhere this man has lived.

This guy deserves to have done to him exactly what he did to that lady - only Big Bubba needs to do it to him - then he should be placed in a 5x5 cell with no TV, books, exercise, or anything else until the day he passes!
