You just have to think of the effect that this has on the people around him. Especially his friends and family. How do you think they feel about it? Yes I agree it's a horrible thing, and we should have zero tolerance for it. It's a sickness that none of us could imagine. What is the correct way to handle these things? Many will say violence, but let's be realistic that can't happen. So as a community what do you do? You might think you know your neighbor, but do you? Think about his friends and family. What if this was some one that you knew - your friend - your cousin - What do you do?
and there your bleeding heart liberal ass goes! What about the criminal. Wahhh wahhhh what about the criminals family. Wahhhh wahhhh!!! Guess we should pray for him and then let him work with the kids at church.

To PKY, I can't imagine how it would feel to have a family member who is that sick. I would definitely make sure he is no longer around ANY and ALL KIDS! He cannot be trusted!! I don't think he can be cured of his sickness so every friend, family member and neighbor need to be vigilant about protecting all kids from this man! He should never be able to even have children of his own! No woman should give him the time of day! Too bad we don't have a pervert colony you could send him to! The court should make sure he is not allowed to get on the internet or have a camera period!!

What is the correct way to handle this thing? Lock him up and make him pay the time for the crime! He was found with more than 1,800 child porn images on his computer. It shouldn't matter if you knew him or not. He should have thought about how this actions would hurt his friends and family before he made the choices he did. I'm so sick of people not taking responsibility for their own poor decisions. How hard is it to make good choices in life? I mean, are you really feeling sorry for this sicko? Wake up! I feel sorry for the children he has been in contact with.

The families with children that he had contact with at church and missionaries should all be notified of these charges!

Ok linebacker he's not in the slammer...since its 2012 and we now have a jail, it's not 1960. And also since he's not in jail your statement is incorrect. Brian is a great guy. Yes he obviously has a problem...but since you lead a perfect life with no flaws I'll let you go ahead and cast judgement. I forgot everyone on here is perfect. Yes it is a sin...but in the bible that everyone loves to fall on no one sin is greater than any other. Brian is my best friend and will continue to be so.

Ok let's get some things straight. I'm not a pedophile. I don't have a computer and if I did that's certainly not what I would be doing with it. On another note I did NOT defend his actions, I defended him as a person. I've known this man for quite sometime and I'm having a hard time dealing with the situation and understanding "why"? I never would have guessed this but I suppose I've been wrong before. I definitely don't believe in what he did but I don't see shooting him as an answer. If you took it as me defending his actions I'm sorry you misunderstood, but knowing what I knew of him its still shocking to me.

I'm in no way saying that he shouldn't be held accountable for his actions, but put yourself in this situation some one that you've known for years and never knew anything of this that one day your sitting in your livingroom and you look on the news and there it is. How do you handle that? It makes you question everytime you have ever been around him RIGHT? I'm not defending his actions in anyway. He will have to answer for his actions not me. God will judge him. I'm having compassion for his friends and family who didn't know who we're blind sided by this and have to deal with the consequences of his actions. What you do effects everyone around you. I agree that he should be held accountable for his actions. I believe people who enjoy things like this are sick, and need help. I don't know what kind or what. I'm still trying to process his actions. I do understand how people feel. I have a child!

For the record I don't feel sorry for him
And I never stated that I did! I stated very clearly that as a community we should have ZERO tolerance!

It shouldn't matter WHY he did it. What he did was WRONG PERIOD. If you don't protect those you love you'll be as guilty as him. Choose your friends wisely.

I understand what he did was wrong. However I'm not saying why he did it matters in the legality of it....since you're judge jury and executioner...i'm asking why...why someone that close, someone that i trusted, someone that i knew....why he had to be into something that would bring this kind of attention upon himself. And as for you asking why the family and friends have to suffer the consequences...let this happen to a member of your family or a very close friend. Someone that you know on a personal level...someone that you trust...there's a thing in this judicial system called guilty by association...which a lot of you onlookers seem to use. I defend him as a person and a friend i've had and suddenly i'm a pedophile or i'm as "guilty as he is". Well since you're perfect I hope you get to keep the clean streak going. But do not for one second try to associate me with this crime, you ignorant ass.

Yes, exactly. His friends and family suffer the consequences of his action by being guilty by association. You look at this person you love you don't want to see a "bullet in their head", but at the same time your thinking this is the worse thing some one can do. So your sitting there and you've literally lost some one you love and care about because you simply cannot be around them, and their actions are hard for you to imagine. Most of all you feel the need to protect the ones in your life you love the most.
