As a mother of a freshman at CU, this is NOT the type of thing that we want to hear.
We have enough things to worry about when our kids leave home as it is. And this poor kid is from out of town? Luckliy this young man will be okay, but man, how would that be for your first day of college? And what are his parents feeling right about now? Not having good thoughts about Boulder I'm sure.......

That guy's got serious mental issues and should not be out in public with such a violent past.

You have to pay for a background check, and I am sure some bean counter at CU decided that why pay for background checks if nobody makes you? Lucky the kid wasn't killed or mutilated by this freak. CU can pay Ward Churchhill tons of money, but can't do a simple background check on their employees. Lucky for us the freak wasn't a janitor in a woman's dorm.

A CBI background check costs $35 from what I understand.
