Come on man. Be a Marine, and step up and turn yourself in. What are they gona do? Send you back to Iraq? No. Send you back to your unit? No. Time in the brig? Yeah, but so what? One day you will get out and you want have to run any more. Your family will know that you are okay. Do what is right, running from this is not right. Think back to what our Drill Instructors taught us in boot camp.

So I decide to google this kids name for s**ts and giggles and it turns out his parents have a website for him, www.lancehering.com . There seems to be a lot of support for what he did, some people call him a 'true' hero for standing up for what he believed in. He must rest easy at night knowing that he has people helping him out telling him it's okay to leave his post and not fulfill his responsibilities. It's not his fault, though, because someone lied to him, right? I'm sure every other Marine knew exactly what they were getting into when they joined and that's why none of them have done the same thing. Or maybe, they just have honor, courage, and commitment. That's just my four cents. He's the one that has to sleep at night. If someone he knows is reading this tell him not to worry because I got the watch, again for the 3rd time. And, I hope he enjoys his margarita in Mexico because I swore I saw him about 8 months ago on I-5 in San Diego with a peace sign on the window.
Kaelynn, it wouldn't matter if you were remotely mexican and had a house with wheels, you're still hot.

Yeah, I heard about how he supposedly did it to stand up for himself. His parents are probably funding his whole "vacation". And thank you for the compliment, that was nice.

If you're wondering why so many of our military people are deserting, take another look at their leadership.

Hypocrites cannot lead by example.

Plain and simple...Hering deserted his unit. He let down his fellow Marines when they expected him to "be there" for them. Regradless of his personal convictions about US international policy, he broke a trust and a contract/promise of service to his country. A deserter costs taxpayers money and can cost lives.
Personally, I would not want this guy watching my back if over in Iraq or Afganistan.

Yeah, he may be dead for real or just dead on the inside. War will do that to you. Untill you face bullets for real you have no idea. It is not like tv or the movies. For those who have fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

Why should he have to pay this back when illegals dont have to pay medical bills? Charge them also. Discrimination.

You obviously have not served in the military. The first class recruiters must go through is BS 101.
Whatever your image is about joining the military, it changes the day you step onto the field.

Quit wasting resources on finding this person and focus on more important things. Besides , do we really want a person serving in the military who really does not want to be there?

Whatever...she looks like she stepped out of a magazine...if that is truly a picture of her.
When it comes to ass, who cares what the race is...good is good, no matter how you cut it.
