If city and county officials were smart, they would steer v-e-r-y clear of anything or anyone with ties to the "No Kill" movement.

These groups allegedly have ties to Akc, dog breeders, and numerous groups across the nation appear to be on some sort of mission to force officials to turn over the animal shelter to a private non profit group (them - aka "privatize")- it appears they have a history across the nation of creating conflict against a shelter and/or director - to get them terminated or force them to resign - then they get one of their breeder friends in the key position to start favoring breeders over the real animal rescue people.
i.e Memphis, Tn. Animal Control
Columbus, Ga. Animal Control
Chicago, Il. Animal Control
Macon-Bibb Co Animal Control
etc.

A "No Kill" concept would awesome IF these groups were genuine "animal welfare" people - but they have too many ties with dog breeding and Nathan Winograd.

These groups are quick to toss out city and county names (Reno, Austin, Tompkins Co, NY, etc) of their "No Kill"s so called "successes" but if you do your research, you'll discover that these cities and counties aren't doing so well under their "No Kill" program. Overcrowding, neglect, cruelty, hoarding - with criminal charges being filed across the nation at shelters - and the animals are, as always, the biggest victims.

These groups should just pray that the public, media and law enforcement, don't start checking behind what they are claiming - or appearing to attempt to pull off against county/city officials, as well as the real animal rescue community.

A non profit that attempts to represent themselves as something they are not - while soliciting for monetary donations, well, that could be considered fraud.

Google, people, Google.
And when you do, scroll down past ALL of the "paid for" No Kill links -and there you'll be able to start seeing some truth.

I've actually heard that very same thing about some of the nk groups. I think it's horrible that they have taken on the no kill description to falsely represent their agenda. It's a damn shame that they would do that at the expense of the poor animals in need. It truly makes me sick.

the good thing is more and more people are realizing what is really going on with them - and who is behind it. Who else - dog breeders.
