Linn gun permit holders: Want your name withheld?

Holders of concealed-carry gun permits in Linn County will soon get a letter asking them if they want their names withheld in case someone makes a public-records request.

What a STUPID question! Why are they even spending the time and money to ask? Why on earth would ANYONE with a concealed weapons permit want the whole world to know they might be carrying? What good could possibly be served?

I agree with your thought.

However, they should reply: Maybe and employer will fire them if that person finds out.

Otherwise? The law should be challenged in court for being a violation of privacy: WHAT OTHER licenses are published as a matter of public record?

And if they are not published, are they available for perusal without the license holder being notified before hand?
