I'm all for supporting the school's efforts to provide adequate education for our community's children. I do not, however, support my taxes being used to feed half of the kids there both breakfast and lunch while their parents have cable television service and internet piped into their houses, 7 year loans for new automobiles and seemingly plenty money for cigarrettes and eating out at restaurants regularly. While I'm on my rant, can somebody explain to me why we bus kids to school from a few blocks away??? In my day the rural kids were bused and the rest of us got there however we could, either a parent took us or we walked or bicycled. When I had kids in school not so many years ago they did the same thing. Are we just that lazy these days?
