As part of industry roll-up Burkle will buy more than three dozen of the profitable footprints in Delaware Valley and merge into Pathmark division.

Burkle already owns more that 15% of SuperValu; does he want to control the whole world? Will Pathmark segment give me a job then? Since Professor Metzger knows so much; why isn't he a supermarket exec??

I patronize Schlessinger's Deli around the corner from P&P. A nice sandwich is only $22 with very strong horseraddish; much better than the crap dispensed on Latimer Street by Stus spies. Laura Goldman is jealous because she can only afford McDonalds greese burgers.

Bryn Mawr Acme has great people, and soon they will be my workers at the rebannered Pathmark Sav-A-Center. What do you think Sam?

There are only about 32 profitable Acmes out of more than one hundred in the chain. Maybe a leftist newspaper might set up shop in a soon to be vacant Acme.
