"With above 50 percent of free and reduced lunch for our schools, it is a serious issue for Waynesboro and the surrounding communities,"
If we could throw all the adults off the planet...... these kids may have a chance.

I am terribly disappointed by the captioning of this story--HUNGRY KIDS. I am a parent of one of the children in this video, and we do not receive TANF, SNAP benefits or any other public assistance services.
We are considered a middle class family that makes well above the median income for the Shenandoah Valley, and we pay the full tuition each week for services provided. We currently utilize the B & G club because there are only two providers for summer care in our area, and as both of us are working parents we had to have child care for our son.
To assume that all families that are participating because we are "needy" and/or unable to provided meals for our "hungry" children is absurd and disheartening. Although I believe that there are children and families that benefit from the services provided, a broad generalization with a clear photo of my child is erroneous.
