Feb 7, 2010 Full story: News Journal 16

It could be tomorrow. It could be in 300 years. At some point, the plates far beneath the earth will start to shift 600 miles southwest of here.

i live 20 miles from the Ashtubula county line. When a trembler hits across the line i usually feel it. For the past two years the topography of our western facing property has changed so noticeably that walking paths that used to be level have tilted significantly. For the past 5 years i have been interested in rock collections so my eyesare always on the ground. I walk my dogs everyday on those paths, sometimes 2 or three times. New rocks are working their way to the surface on a daily basis. Just saying!

Take a look at a contour map of Ohio and the western edge of Lake Erie. If a big enough quake hits, all of Lake Erie could slosh right down through central Ohio.

What you experience is erosion, not tectonic plate shifting.

Yes, it will happen, and when it does, most of the structures here will crumble like a house of cards. Places like California (where I grew up) experience earthquakes all the time, but experience very little damage because the structures there are built specifically to withstand earthquakes. Whereas structures in Ohio are designed more for withstanding storms, cold weather and such. None of the buildings here are engineered to survive high magnitude earthquakes, so the devastation from such an event would be comparable to Haiti's. I have experienced many large earthquakes firsthand, none of which frightened me because I knew the buildings I was in were safe. But if and when a large earthquake hits Ohio, I will be very concerned. Typically the proper response to an earthquake in a place like California is to get underneath a table to avoid falling or flying pictures, books, vases, etc. But here in Ohio, a more appropriate response would be to get out and away from any and all structures, period. It's not falling dinnerware you will have to worry about, more like entire rooves caving in. I'm certainly not looking forward to it, and I hope my homeowner's insurance covers earthquake damage (in California it usually doesn't).

Actually don't get under anything but rather right next to a sturdy/heavy or fixed object. A table could crush down on top of you and the table or what ever you got under ends up killing you.
If the item is sturdy enough it will not crush flat and if you are beside it you should be safe.

Inland Sue Nami: sorry it took so long to find this post. I would love to see the map you looked at to see if it coincides with what i am seeing, which i won't go into detail but the rocks coming up are from what i can see part of a larger collection still coming up. Lokking on different sites i can only find similar pictographs and petroglyphs on other neolithic examples. Nothing that apopears from a more recent tribe that i know lived here before white men settled./ps> love the Sue Nami handle> i believe that tells it all but nowhere to run, no place to hide is too many letters.

Well, i have seen erosion and that has a cause = effect look. If it's erosion it has to be underground as these paths are the only thing that gets mowed on the back of our acreage. There are trees, bushes , grass , wildflowers ect. If you took a 1'x1' square piece of wood and put it in front of you, and then took another piece the same wood only an inch smaller and put it under the 1x1, it would tilt evenly ,no loose soil>the ground is moving in squares and in some places it looks like circles. There is a butternut tree we planted about 20 years ago in front of what used to be our horse barn. There is a knoll there where no knoll used to be. I have pictures of the horses standing outside of the barn.no knoll. I suspect an under ground river runs somewhere under our property. That could cause erosion underground but it wouldn't be an equal movement all the way across the piece of property. Another theory i was developing last summer was perhaps a cave is rising up under the pasture. I dropped one of the rocks i was carrying on the ground and it made a hollow sound. so i took two plastic gardening tools and thumped random spots on the path. Some areas that had risen up sounded hollow and continued to make that sound all the way down the path and around the lake the neighbor had dug about 5 years ago. in the long run if it is an earthquake waiting to happen and it's huge>it won't matter at all We are situated less than a hundred miles from Perry . Still trying to figure out why you build a nuclear plant on a fault line but there we go with the mysteries of life again.

Earthquakes can happen in a lot of places. I know we'll get a decent one here at some point, but it's a lot better to be here than out in California.

Wait. That little picture chart says that Cleveland will be in the area that sustains no damage from the earthquake and the rest of Ohio has light affects. So then why are we worried when a 7.2 won't even touch us?

Its seems awfully convenient they start talking about equakes in Ohio, right after our area starts warning folks about EQ saftey, and the Fire & Safety council announces training, rescue & E-vac
measures...Hmmm, we here in the midwest havent been hit with any major disaster for 300 years other than flooding. Is the Govmnt Evil Control of HAARP about to unload on Ohioans Now?? Just like they did with the tornadoes caused in the South recently. Its a proven fact their chem-trails and use of VLF pulses in that area were evident and then 27-1/2 hours later Holy Tornado Hell broke loose. Again creating another disaster to criple folks and the economy there. They will come up with a way to be the Hero's and help everyone with rebuilding. It's a stinking Ploy by the current administration to gain your confi-
dence when they come up with the solution to the very problems they create. Wake up people...They
want nothing mor than to see you in destitude and dispare while they make all the money from the pre
determined contracts that will " Re-build your area
Mark my words they are going to manipulate the ground frequencies in Ohio and cause a major quake with that HAARP Weapon. Folks don't kid yourself that thing is a weapon, anyone who gets in their way or disagrees with their New World Order Agenda is a target, and they will take you out by whatever means necessary, sad but true, the US white house and its cronies running it are the terrorists of this world, they are doing nothing but systematically breaking down your way of life and giving you 1/2 truths in the media and reporting what they want us to hear, they own it all and will stop at nothing to take total control of you and the rest of this world for their own profit and benefit. I got news for them tho' GOD will protect his own, and they will be destroyed
once and for all. They know there time short and the devil's evil is being imposed upon the world at alarming rates as you can tell by all of these sudden disasters that they in FACT HAVE CREATED WITH THE HAARP WEAPON.... The Bible speaks of all of this happening and folks refuse to believe. Get right with our creator, he is the ONE AND ONLY ONE WHO WILL deliver you from this evil that now plagues this world with up in your face policies and invasions of your basic rights & privacy. E-day
we are foreced to abide by more rules and regula-
tions and monitoring, and if you folks can't see it
OMG your being lead off of a cliff by these evil doers and they flat out just do not give a crap about the destruction they create. Because there agend is to get rid of 1/2 the worlds population and re-buld this so called NEW World Utopia. It will happen, as we are so busy trying to survive and keep up with all of the changes we must adapt to everday, just trying to feed our families and earn an honest living, the know it and know you are looking for answers and away to make it better, but they only patch and pasify you with partial relief, and pre-determined solutions that only benefit them and their agenda in the long run
It's sad but true, we are defenseless against them
but you must keep your faith and believe that the
eminent return of Christ is coming and you will be taken out of this mess before it gets to bad. Be not deceived by the one who will claim to be the
"christ", he will perform miracles, and patch things only for a while, then when he has you all under his thumb, he will demand you worship him for what he has done for you, do not take his mark or micro-chip, stand your ground. He will say he is CHRIST, GOD, the FATHER, and when he attempts to
take GOD'S seat and claim his throne LOOK OUT HOLY
HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE, THE final battle between good and evil will come to pass and I got news for all of them..... GOD WILL PREVAIL !!!!! Peace Out
