An accident in Aroostook County early this morning claimed the life of a horse. At about 3:20 this morning, David Tarr, 29, of Oakfield was driving a loaded log trailer on Route 2 in Smyrna when he struck a horse in the roadway, which had gotten out of its nearby pasture.

This is a very sad situation. As a horse owner I know the possibility of this happening.I worry about my horses 24/7. Sometimes they will escape and if they are "bomb proof" {as ,mine almost are a vehicle does not scare them.} I am very sorry for the loss of the animal, and I am glad no person was injured in the accident. My thoughts are with your loss.
